Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a long-lasting foamy head that cakes itself on the side of the glass. Citrus hops aroma, grapefruit, fruity esters, pineapple and a touch of mango along with some spiceyness. The palate is smooth, light-medium bodied with an average length finish. The flavor is well-balanced with juicy hops, a nice malt backbone and soft citrus and floral bitterness. A nice surprise. Delightful!

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2011 Unfortunately I thought this was De Ranke Flower Power, a Top 5 saison of mine. Boy was I wrong. On tap at Paradiso Georgetown, this pours a clear, deep yellow with a rocky, creamy, dense, off-white head that has insane retention but little lace. This is pretty much a piney, nutty hop bomb with no body to match or balance. Every IBU is imminent, massive Brasil nut and walnut skin abounding. A little bit of cream of wheat and oatmeal body peek through to remind you this is a beer rather than hop tea. Regardless, it is a little past its prime and has started to degenerate unfortunately. What a sad, ironic tale it is that IPA was invented for longevity, and here the American dry-hopped the #%@ out variety has a half life of a few weeks. I have no notes for the aroma probably because it was just stale hop strawberry. 6/22/2010 6/4/7/3/12=3.2

355mL very fresh in NYC. The pour is still very nice with a barely yellow head exploding forth with generous retention and rocky terrain. Aroma is really nice here: fresh tropical fruits, light pepper, peach, fresh grapefruit and pomelo. Taste follows suit with fresh fruit and melons, all quenching caramel and pale ale malt, no bitterness, no strawberry, no degradation. It is sort of a pain in the ass to search for fresh IPAs in a world of stale IPAs. But damn when you score, you score. 1/22/2011 7/4/8/4/14=3.7

12 oz bottle. Clear amber with a pocked white head. Nose is orange, pine, bubblegum and mango. Medium body, resiny with soft carb. Taste is orange peel, bitter lemon and toffee. Dry finish with juniper and soapy hints.

A pretty good drinking IPA but a tad too bitter for my liking, the aroma and taste are both resinous pine cone and flowery goodness. Not the most interesting or complex, but I did notice a creeping caramel flavor towards the end of my glass that would make me think about retrying this one.

Tasted from 12oz bottle. Pours amber-orange with a decent white head that recedes to lace. Nose of hops, some caramel malt, and I am detecting some apricot and sage. This beer is super balanced, masking the alcohol perfectly. The hops and malt come together perfectly with good fruity notes of apricot and bitterness. The body is medium with average carbonation and a decent and enjoyably bitter finish. I am very impressed by this beer.

A-pours two fingers of a thick bubbly white head that lingers for almost a minute and leaves a light lacing on the glass, the beer is a cloudy deep golden color S-light notes of ester hit the nose, flower mostly and light notes of citrus rind, hit of pale malt in there as well but faint T-this is all hops, great hop flavor, mostly a flowery hop with a hint of citrus finishing with a nice hop bitterness M-this is very smooth with a medium body, almost a syrupy texture with just the right amount of carbonation

12oz bottle from Belmont Party Supply. Pours clear orange with small white head. Aromas of tropical fruits, citrusy hops, and sweet malts. Flavors of sweet malts, citrus, herbal hops, and some light pine. Has a bit of a candied sugar sweetness in the malt profile. The sweet malts are a little to much as it is taking away from the hops. Decent IPA.

355 mL bottle. Amber-orange with a small, short-lived, almost-white head. Tonnes of C-hops in the aroma, with maybe just a touch of malt underneath. Lots of hops in the flavour as well, but there is a very solid, slightly sweet, caramel and brown sugar backbone. Decent finish and body. Very nice IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2012 Cloudy copper pour with minimal white head. Aroma holds floral notes, pine, orange rind, a touch of grapefruit, and some caramel malt- quite nice on the nose. Flavor is heavy on the evergreen qualities, but with some really nice additional tastes of pollen and citrus in the background. Palate is smooth and quaffable, and lightly carbonated. Really quite a good IPA. Rerate 2-16-12: goodness gracious did this beer deserve a rerate. Just got my hands on twelve bottles from their most recent batch, no more than 10 days old or so. Huge lively apricot and citrus character in the nose, and awesome floral/pine bitterness on the flavor. Outlandishly good. Upping from a 3.6 to a 4.1
