3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Okay, I heard this beer was created using only First Wort and knock out hops - something I have done in my homebrewing adventures, so I am excited. Nice banana dough nose sits atop a cloudy light amber brew with thick and rocky head. Oozing lace. Interesting. The flavor is a bit muddy. There are hops, yes, some tangerines and the like, plus a spicy rye kick. A bit of caramel adds depth, but a bit of crispness would do this beer wonders. I am enjoying the lingering hop flavor. It is enjoyable.
Goldy, murky with lots of sediment. Thick, persistent fine white foam. Musty notes in the nose and a good variety of floral, citrus and spice notes. Medium body and moderate fizz. A touch of soapiness but drying toward the finish. The taste is equally complex with sweet citrus fruit and biscuit malt along with coriander and pepper. The hops are comparatively strong, tending toward the herbal and grassy.
Well balanced in the sweet and tart, favoring the tart. TaktikMTL (8014) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 17, 2014

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a big three finger white head. The head has nice retention slowly fading to leave a very nice level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is a mix of lots of yeasty and spicy smells. Mixed with these aromas are strong smells of a haylike funk, green apples, sour grapes, wheat and pepper. It is a rather potent smelling saison in many of the aromas you would expect.
Taste – The taste begins with a lot of wheat, yeast and an orange citrus taste. As the taste advances flavors of spice begin coming to the tongue with clove coriander and cardamom being the strongest. Along with the spice so too comes a souring and haylike funky taste. Sweeter flavors of a light banana and tangerine also come to the tongue more toward the middle giving the brew a rather sweet taste. The flavors are soon met with a strong grass and herbal like and sour grape like taste more toward the middle to the end of the taste. In the end a moderately citrus sweet, yeasty, and funky taste are left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light in terms of creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is on the medium to slightly above average side. Both are quite nice with for the funky and citrus flavors of the brew and make for an easier drink.
Overall – A fairly sweeter and tasty saison. Lots of citrus, yeast and a nice sour bite that is balanced nicely by the herbal and sweeter flavors of the brew.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Tom L. Cloudy pale blond with white head. Citrus, lemon and lemon hard-candy aroma, bitter, hoppy, with a little poppy seed in the mouth. Long, mildly bitter and yet tarty finish, medium-bodied. generallee08 (778) - New York, USA - JUL 15, 2014
This beer pours clear and golden until the last few ounces with all the yeast sediment. The yeast swirls around and slowly blends in give the body a hazy appearance. The slow carful pour produces a huge billowy meringue like head that fills half the glass. It holes on forever and keep a good cap of foam on till the last sip. On the sides of the glass it leaves big splotches of foam lacing. There are strong hop presence along with all the typical estery and funky/medicinal Belgian yeast and malt notes. There are fruity notes from the malt and yeast as well as the hops. Hops add some citrus and spicy floral notes and the yeast/malt brings a mix of tropical fruit and mild white pepper like dry spice. There is a lot of complexity packed into this firmly medium bodied beer. There is a flash of candy and bready sweetness with estery yeast as well as dry funk and mellow phenolic spice. The hops which are more influential here then in a traditional Belgian Ale bring solid hop bitterness from the start to the finish and add there own floral and citrusy spice notes. It finishes with dry spice and firm dry hop bitterness. The palate is lively and well carbonated. ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 12, 2014
Aroma: The two things that stick out the most are cheesecloth and an herbaceous hop character, specifically basil. There’s also a bit of dandelion flower here as well. Has a pastoral feel. Appearance: Hazy, cloudy gold body with strong, lively carbonation; the white head never quite goes away, and leaves a white meringue. Flavor: A bit more grainy up front; more herbal than floral (like the nose); very dry and leaves a lingering bitter herbal impression on the palate. Palate: Full body, thick texture, lively carbonation, lingering finish. Overall: Some good bones here, but I must admit that the beer was much more enjoyable in the nose. Still, a pretty nice offering. DialSquare (5188) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 24, 2014
