COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ground Break is our new spring seasonal… it’s an Americanized (hoppy) Saison. It’s brewed with generous amounts of Amarillo, Crystal and Glacier hops (none added during the boil by the way- only first wort, whirlpool and dry-hop additions) and flaked rye. It’s fermented with a blend of Dupont and Chico yeasts. Very dry, ample yeast character, and hoppy. We’ve brewed a couple of batches so far, and expect it to start showing up on draft first, then in 6-packs and our variety 12-pack in February. It’ll last until May or so when we start rolling out this year’s version of Partly Sunny, our summer Wit-style beer! This will show up everywhere that our seasonal brews and variety packs are found: NY, PA, CT, MA, RI, NJ and OH.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours hazy orange gold with a small white head. Aromas of yeast/spice and pepper. Medium body with mild carbonation. Seems to have a lot of citrus, with yeast/spice and pepper. Finishes dryish with a definite bitterness/barnyard on the sides of the tongue. A really good ale.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Tom L. Hazy shiny pale yellow with a nice frothy white head. Spicy and lemony aroma with yuzu and some hops. Flavor is rather dry with a light sweetish note, wheaty, citric and mildly spicy with a bitterish hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. Nice.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus, sweet fruit and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a friend.

3.7
Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 22, 2013
12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Wexford. Pours a hazy golden color with a frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of spicy, herbal hops, citrus, stone fruits, pale malts. The taste is herbal, citrus, earthy hops, pale malts and a fruity finish. Comes across more as a BPA than an American hopped beer. Medium bodied, quite refreshing. Nice beer.

3.6
Dogbrick (14326) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 27, 2011
Sample at Brew Kettle in Strongsville. The beer is a clear golden color with a thin eggshell white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lace on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and fruit. Light body with flavors of mild hops, fruit, malt and yeast. The finish is fruity with a sweet aftertaste. Above average Saison overall.

j12601 (13299) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 8, 2010
Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed glowing gold amber with a thick medium density white head that deflates steadily. Sweet pine and citrus with a bit of musk and even a touch of crisp ginger. Medium bodied, a bit of grain, more musk, and some banana. Finishes with a bit of warming alcohol over a nice musky yeast.
