A: snifter. nice ruby-esque mahogany color. nice light brown head. low retention rate. subtle lacing.
S: nice malt aroma, very nutty, pine nuts and pecans, hints of vanilla and some oak.
T: great nut brown flavors from the malts, some cherries and vanilla from the barrels. some hints of coconut.
M: medium bodied, with a great palate for a brown ale. mild carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a light brown/amber and a thin lasting head. Aroma is nutty, toast, light chocolate, vanilla and oak, raisins leather and earth- ropey- almost shoelace? Bottle. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and toffee notes, molasses, a hint of oak. A bit more oak in the flavor, but the focus is still on the sweet malt. Bottle. Pours a light mahogany brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of molasses, caramel malt, roasted malt, sweet dark fruits (raisin, plum), and toffee. Flavor is a little sweeter than I would like (actually it also has some acidic/sour notes too) with a background of roasted and sweet malt. Ugh, not tasty at all. I don’t get any nut or oak.

The appearance is hazy and cloudy mahogany brown. Thin creamy head. Nice to look at; nice and thick-looking.
A woody, oaky top aroma, backed by a nutty malt. Hints of brown sugar. The malt is more roasted than sweet in this beer.
The taste is a very nutty bitter brown, with a slight sweetness at the end. The brown sugar takes a backseat to the nutty/bitter side. The oaky wood flavor is merely an accent, and the beer doesn’t make a fetish out of it. If it’s not perfectly fresh, it starts to have the taste of cooked vegetables, which is not a good thing.
In the mouth, it’s dry and ashy. Creamy on the front of the tongue, dry at the swallow. It’s a nutty, roasted, bitter brown ale. The oak is only slight. Pretty good.

Bottle. Thanks jason. Poured a hazy dark brown color with a small light brown head. aroma is mostely oak. Almost smells fake or overpowering. Draft at Coles in Buffalo. Pours cola brown with a thin head. The aroma is sweet, with butterscotch, brown sugar, and hazelnuts. Oak shows up in the flavor, along with some sweet caramel malts. On tap at Coles Buffalo NY. Pours ashimmering light to medium brown. Small head. Nutty, roasty aroma. Light oak. Taste is roasted malts, nutty, light oak in the finish. Medium to lighter bodied. OK
