This is a beer that has some bite...hoppy flavor that isn’t overwhelming, a great beer to start someone on that hasn’t ventured far from pilsners auerbrau (3206) - Ithaca, New York, USA - AUG 8, 2010
12oz Bottle. Thanks Kevin! Strong floral citrus and pine nose, heavy on the C hops. Pours a clear copper and orange with a nice, super-lacey rim of white. Flavors are crips and rich. Nice strong malt backboned with some carameled nuance. Hops flavors and bitterness are great. Snappy, leafy, and bright. A really great, flavorful pale ale. Balanced. Exemplary for the style, in my opinion. Holtguy (181) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 21, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 22, 2010 Bottle bought at some convenience store in Avon, NY. Copper pour with white head. Decent lacing. This is a crisp pale ale, with fresh citrusey flavor and aroma, with a bit of bitterness but not a whole lot. Excellent malt balance. I really, really, really, really, really enjoyed this brew. One of the best Pale Ales I’ve ever had. It’s not an IPA masquerading as a PA or anything. This would be my go-to Pale Ale if they sold it in stores near me. Light copper; Aroma: Unfolding hops & fresh, bready malt; Palate: very fresh-tasting floral hoppiness. Not overwhelmingly bitter at all, just great hop flavours well balanced by fresh malt. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - OCT 31, 2002
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2004 This pale has been upgraded since my last rating. I heard that they were hopping this brew up, and it delivers. Nicely hopped and well balanced. A good effort and one worth seeking out in and around the area.
This is an average beer at best. Little in the way of maltiness and a sharpness without good hop flavor. The nut brown and flower power are much better.

Floral & fruity. Nice hops aroma with sweet malts. Spicy & herbal. Bright golden amber clear with small white head, lacing. Med body & med carb. Light sweet start, malts, and great hops profile. Watery, but well-balanced. Finish is light bitter w/light sweet bitter after. Nice session beer. Libeerian (209) - Garner, North Carolina, USA - AUG 26, 2003
I enjoyed the really bright, refreshing hop aroma and flavor. There's malt support but its appropriately subdued. The only drawback was the debris that messed with the appearance. Jan Primus (160) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2005
Rich golden colour, pleasant balance of malts and hops, not very bitter at all. Would make a fine thirst-quencher for the summer, not too complex, but quite satisfying. Slipstream (2702) - USA - JUL 24, 2009
Amber pour. Very nice floral hop and honey malt aroma. The flavor is dry and hoppy as expected, but well balanced on its rich, malty chassis. Touches of pineapple and nuts, and a clean, crisp finish. This is one of the best (and most underrated) APAs I can think of, and another treat from this consistently fine brewery.
