Working through a serious back-log from EBF/NotB. This one poured a hazy chestnut brown with a soapy head. Smell was complex with sour and tart fruits and maybe even some sweeter notes of pineapple and apples. The taste had a decent alcohol burn over the sweet fruits and some resiny rind. Something was amiss for me, but I can appreciate it. Thorpe429 (5122) - , Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2011
On tap at Night of the Barrels 2011. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a moderately-hazed orange color with a good, several-finger white head. Really nice lacing on the way down. THe nose brings forward quite a bit of bright citrus and rind, backed up by some straw and funk. Nice Brett presence really combining well with the citrus hops. Mouthfeel is really nice in combining the citrus and funk, leading to a satisfying dry finish. One of the better beers of the night; hopefully they keep this Brett-based IPA series going, because I’ve been a pretty huge fan of each one.

Draft at EBF. Pours a hazy orange body with an off white head. Big bretty body with a dry leather and herbal tone. Very yeasty notes of horse blanket, musky funk, with a hint here and there of citrus. Dry brett finish. Nothing wrong here. blklab2007 (2120) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 1, 2011
notb draft pour has a nice funk hit, fruity sweetness, brett, and a citrus blast. flavor is not as much of a hop blast as the regular with the yeast mixed in, hefty oak, nice and dry, and has a lingering brett in the finish. real nice beer but the regular version was better for me. dogfish120love (1364) - Westfield, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 28, 2011
Pours a vibrant orange with no head. The aroma consists of of some citrus and barnyard notes with hints of horse blanket and kola. The flavor is sour out the back notes but sweet on first impression. I didn’t know the style at the time of rating, but I wrote "like a sour IPA or pale ale" in my notes...good to see that I was right on the money

More funky than the regular Super Friends. Very good beer, but not approaching the pure hoppy bliss of the original beer. I’d love it if this were somewhat more reasonable to try again. deyholla (12590) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Sampled from the tap at NotB. Poured a cloudy peach with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was quite fruity with citrus, tropical fruits and a bit of grapefruit joined by some funk and a hint of a grain backbone. Flavor had a bit of a grain start but the citrus and tropical grew nicely through the finish with a bit of funk growing as well. j12601 (13304) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 17, 2011
Pouring at the Night of the Barrels at EBF. Pours a hazed brown with a thin white head. Big and bretty, nice earthy hops. Big brett and leathery tannins. Super soft and bretty. Long brett and wood. Very nice.
