Keg tap at Fools Good, Lower East Side. Dark brown with a suggestion of purple. Not a lot of visible carbonation. Aroma of salted plum, woodsmoke and charcoal. The intense sweet/umami taste of the smoked malt is offset by a well-judged amount of earthy, bitter hop. More gorgeous plummy salty smokiness combined with a grounding bitterness in the long finish. An incredible porter, good enough to stand with the best of them. CH-303 (2437) - Fribourg, SWITZERLAND - NOV 22, 2016

Sampled at Dominion Wine pours a muddy brown with some fluffy, off white head. Nose is interesting, heavy malt and caramel, but quite earthy too, soil, mild smoke, a little meaty. Flavor has cola and malt and caramel, a little sausage, wet soil, wet tree bark. Finishes dry. Just not my thing.
