yeah this beer is phenominal. basically their ipa dry hopped. so the thing is, locally their ipa is known as the best, some argue wedge, but nope Green Man’s is much better, and to dry hoop that and add that extra aroma and nose. yeah it’s good. side note, if you can get it on cask do it.
On tap at Green Man, Asheville. Nice fruity hoppy aroma. A bit of grassy character, some caramel. Pleasant nose. Dark orange-amber clear with thin foamy lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts fairly dry with caramel and fruity sweetness. Big burst of hops, herbal and citrus with a bit of bitter. Bitter finish and after, but not too harsh. Pours cloudy amber strong aromas of flowers & citrus; full-bodied with fruity intense hops & a creamy yet bright palate.. Very long finish. Crisp & clean. Very, VERY good. HighlanderOne (1374) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - MAY 16, 2011
On tap at Jack of the Wood. Medium hop aroma. Nice looking dark honey with whte lacing. Grapefruit pine hop dominates. Just a slightly off aftertaste. Good stuff. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 10, 2011
On tap at The Federal, Durham. Semi-cloudy deep orange pour with a thick one-finger head. Strong and sweet nose, with tons of malt and bitter hops riding sidecar. Mouthfeel is less creamy than expected, less full too, with a good amount of heat on the palate (and mild spice). Sharply grassy flavors do battle with the sweet heat, with the effect strangely being that they cancel each other out. Not the balanced hop profile I look for in this style, and way too sweet and hot for me. beernovice39 (3269) - Idaho, USA - MAY 9, 2011
Draft at Jack of the Wood pub. Red/gold pour with a thin white head. Scent of pine. Taste is caramel with a piney bitter finish.

Tap at Jack of the Wood. Pours thick with a ruby color. Aroma is nice, not among the legendary hop monsters but still sharp with defined notes of pine, weed, and wood. Citrus is not the main focus. Palate is sticky in a good way. The flavor is where this really comes alive. More hops than I expected with clean, dank, herbal bite. The finish has almost a wafer sweetness to compete with all the hops. Malts are heavy but do not subtract from the bitter goodness. Really remarkable for Green Man! biznizness (1128) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 16, 2009
Draft at the pub last weekend in Asheville. Very nicely done DIPA. Tons of hops in the nose and mouth... this one’s a sipper. But very good. StinkBall (157) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - NOV 30, 2009
Very intense double IPA. Aroma is nice with the hops overwhelming. Mouthfeel is nice. Flavor is hops and fruit. Great beer that packs a punch.
