COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oil of Aphrodite is an American double stout brewed with locally harvested black walnuts and Belgian candied syrup. English, German, American, and Belgian malts are accompanied by Pacific Northwest hops, creating a sweet and rich springboard for deep nuttiness.

This stout was aged in bourbon barrels for 8 to 12 months, creating an amazing brew worthy of goddesses and gods alike. A considerable amount of carefully roasted coffee beans were added to awaken one’s senses. A beer passionately created to transcend your glass and provide a truly memorable experience.

Bottle. Black with a small head. Nose has subtle vanilla, oak, mocha. Velvety on the tongue but huge amount of coffee roast hits you from behind. imho too much coffee

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2018 Same colour as the Bourbon, blackish brown colour with beige head small head going to the sides of the glass. Aroma has Bourbon barrel, wooden notes, roasted malts. Maybe some mocha too. Taste is roasted malts, Bourbon barrel, vanilla, maybe some mocha as well in the end. Full oily texture with lowish. Coffee was well hidden to be honest.

Bottle. Pours inky black, small diminishing beige head, good lacing. Aroma is mocha, hints of bourbon, ashtray, molasses, hint of walnut, rum. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, boozy, rich, coffee. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Good.

(375ml bottle from kihoskh.dk) Pours black with a small but persistent fine dark tan head. Aroma of dark malt w/molasses and fudge, bourbon, vanilla, oak, subtle dark coffee, hints of chocolate and nutty roast, maybe a touch of walnut. Flavour is sweet darker malts with brown sugar, dark caramel, bourbon, sweet black coffee, vanilla, soft cocoa, light hints of liquorice, a bit woody, toasty nutty roast. Lots of drier roastier coffee notes in the back end, slightly ashy, more woody, some explicitly walnut-like quality in the finish and aftertaste. Medium bodied, slightly slick, very softly carbonated, with no booze. This might be the least boozy Jackie O's beer I've tried to date, and as such the best. Adjuncts are well-judged, it's a touch thin for its flavours but otherwise delicious and balanced.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 Bottle at home. Pitch black, creamy beige head. Roasted malty and added coffee first, creamy, butterscotch, vanilla, bourbon, boozy. Aftertaste lingers nicely. Good body, medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel.

Dark brown pour with a tall, fine-grained tan head. Beautiful aroma, tons of freshly brewed coffee, bourbon, oak, mouldy barrel. The taste follows the same notes, a bit sharp on the bourbon but really right up my alley, with chocolate, coffee and a bit of cocoa complimenting the vanilla and sour cherries notes coming, I assume, from the barrel. Smooth texture, low carbonation, full body.

Nice notes of bourbon barrel, some - rather subtle - coffee notes. Complex, decent imperial stout.

Bottle shared from/at Maakun, thanks! Black with thin tan head. Roasted chocolate and caramel malts, loads of bourbon and vanilla, nice little roasted coffee notes, bit alcoholic, some moldy wet old wood. Big sweet and quite bitter. Over medium body and low carbonation.
