(Rating #7930)

My Bottom Line:
Tropical fruit depths and their acidity meet parcimonious wild yeast in this complex and drinkable creation.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the deep, bright golden mist.
-This pawpaw fruit works wonders with the chosen yeast and bacteria profile.
-All ingredients are harmonious.
-Flavor profile intensity is moderate.

Draft. A golden beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of funk, brettanomyces, fruits, malt, and hops, leading to a tart finish.

From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting at Corbet’s house on December 21. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a lighter golden yellow color with a smaller white head that vanishes quickly without any trace left. The aroma is surprisingly complex. There is a nice tropical fruitiness up front with a big funk throughout. There is a light oak, a hint of citrus, and a bit of tartness to it. It’s complex, but not what you’d expect. The flavor is equally interesting. The tropical fruit fades in favor of a stronger funk and citrus, and the oak really brings up the back end. The mouth feel is quite watery and light. There isn’t a lot of carbonation and the aftertaste is really funky oak with a hint of fruit. It’s an interesting finish to a rather strange beer.

22 oz. bottle. It pours a clear light golden color with an off white head. The aroma is nice and crisp with peach, pineapple ,mango, lime, a little bit of funk and a complex acid profile. Very nice. The flavor is funky, lightly phenolic and bitter with good notes of orange, lime, mango and pineapple. The subtle brett phenols mingle with the bitterness to provide a counter point to the lightly acidic sourness. Not off putting in any way. Light bodied. Really good stuff.

From notes, 6/4/15. Bottle at bottle share with tbub18. Quality brett wild ale, with notes of barnyard, earth, and funk. There was some general fruit aroma and light flavor, too. Good, although not quite at the heights of some of the other beers we had that night.
