DrnkMcDermott (3141) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - DEC 19, 2011
From growler at Dark Lord Day. Growler was just labeled "Berlin," and this didn’t look quite a Berliner Weiss. Slightly cloudy yellow to brown color, thin ring of foam. Well, the smell does have some of the requisite tartness. Not like I’ve had more than 3 or 4 of these anyway. Taste proves the style, though. Nicely tart wheat beer, no brett at work, all acidulated malt. Very spritzy.

500ml bottle. Tart citrusy aroma with notes of lacto, Brett, spicy Belgian yeast and a bit of banana. Pours clear pale golden colored with a thin white head that has some retention and good lacing. Starts with tart citrus flavors with notes of banana and has a very lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry and refreshing with tartness from lacto and Brett flavors as well as a hint of Belgian yeast spiciness. Quite a nice Berliner to quench your thirst on a warm day.
