Draft at Jackie O-s. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma shows caramel wood, brandy, dark fruits and some roast. The flavors are similar with caramel, brandy, dark fruits, a hint of red grapes, roast and wood. Sample during the speaker series of Night of the Barrels (EBF) so had some time to enjoy this one. Brown with a light brown head. Oak, caramel, nutty, brandy, tannins, plum, some malt and booze. Dark brown pour with a fluffy beige head. Aroma yields brandy, oak, toffee, and molasses.Flavor follows suite with an aggressive brandy finish. heavy roast aftertaste, on the verge of being smokey. Poured on draft. Appearance is a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is a beautiful combination of brandy, oak, caramel, and molasses. Taste is much the same with an elegantly flowing of nuances to a brandy-esque finish. Kick-ass beer.

Sample at Jackie O’s as part of Ohio Brew Week. Pours cola-colored with a thin off-white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon and roasted malt. Rich and smooth body with flavors of brandy-infused chocolate, caramel and malt. The finish is malty with a roasted nut and dark fruit aftertaste. Above average overall. Awesome beer. Pours a deep brown with a hint of red and minimal lacing. Aroma is wood, dark & red fruit, a touch of nuts, smoke, and vanilla. This poured a cloudy darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was lots and lots of brandy, lots of buttery notes, and light toasted caramel malt. Flavor was almost all brandy, very little underlying brown ale there. UPDATED: JUN 28, 2011 Sample at the Public House bottle release on 6/25/11. Darkest brown pour with a thick tan head. Caramel and buttered toffee nose with malt and booze. Buttered toffee flavor with roast, a bit of black cherry and a boozy finish.
