UPDATED: SEP 3, 2012 On tap from pub side. Pours a dark brown black with medium tan head. Aroma is notes of bourbon and rich malt and a little bit of oak and vanilla. mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with medium to low carbonation. Flavor is rich roasted malts with alcohol warmth and bourbon oak and a little bit of spice which may be Belgian yeast interesting barley wine base still shows through the bourbon. Overall I love this beer this is everything I look for in a beer big roasty malt with bourbon and oak this is a big drinkable beer. Great beer to put in bourbon barrel. hopscotch (11044) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 24, 2012
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Cloudy brown ale with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Good retention. The nose is a luxuriant swirl of bourbon, brown sugar, toffee and mocha. Full-bodied and chewy with soft carbonation. The flavor furnishes tons of bourbon intermingled with sweet caramel and brown sugar. The finish is all about the bourbon. I do love bourbon. Thanks goes out to darkguardian for sharing this world class rarity! slowrunner77 (11912) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 24, 2014
"I believe this is a barreled blend of stout and barleywine. Lots going on, both from the beers (chooclate, roast, caramel, toffee, a hint of hop bitterness) and the barrels (slight booze, vanilla, oak, bourbon). Pretty nice smooth beer overall." Aniela (4216) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2015

Draft sample. Poured reddish brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy malt, bourbon cherry wood and alcohol aroma. Moderate to full body with a smooth slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy cherry bourbon biitersweet flavor to medium complex bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a complex standout beer.

Draft at Jackie O-s. Pours a dark mahogany color with a fine creamy beige film. The aroma is heavy on the bourbon side with sweet caramel, black cherry, oak with a slight spicy note. The flavor has sweet caramel and toffee, bourbon, vanilla, light cherry notes and oak. Medium plus bodied and was very enjoyable as a sipper. This worked well with the more subdued atmosphere void of the bottle sharing craziness that used to go on. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2013
Sampled at RBSG. From notes. Caramel and toffee with a good dose of roasty malt and bourbon soaked oak. A little vanilla in there too. Very good. I was not expecting it to taste like this at all. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - AUG 6, 2013
