Draft at Jackie O’s in mid 2012 from notes. Pours a dark brown color with a small khaki head. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon, mild spices. The flavor has chocolate, roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, squash/pumpkin like notes, spices. An interesting barrel treatment.

Growler from JO’s, Shared with Brett and Brian, There is so much going on here with this beer, typical porter, spicy yeast, sweet notes, booze filters through.. really good stuff and left quite a lingering aftertaste of the butternut squash.. well done. On tap at the brewpub, served in a snifter. Nice, thin creamy brown head. Very dark brown color. Some lace. Very nice dark chocolate aroma, with the perfect amount of bourbon wood flavor. Solidly long aftertaste with which to appreciate that lovely balance. Nice, big body. Light, crisp carbonation. Slight viscous texture. Nice bitter taste. Lightly sweet. Little alcohol warmth. Great imperial porter. I enjoyed this much more than the standard Googly Moogly, maybe I need to revisit that one.
