Bottled 2010 #30/168shigadeyo (3766) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 1, 2013
Tasted on 4/28/12 with the Nashville and Knoxville crews at Curtis’ old house, big thanks to JR for bringing this one. Pours hazy brown with an auburn tint, no real head, but some thin bubbly lace. The nose is vanilla, marshmallow, milk and dark chocolate, a nutty hint, and some coconut. The flavor is the same with complex notes of chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, vanilla, coconut, and touch of coconut, very balanced. The body is full with average carbonation and a long milk chocolate, vanilla, coconut, and lightly bitter coffee finish.

22oz bottle, shared by alexsdad06. 2010 vintage, bottle 75/168. Clear dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Dots of lace. Very nice vanilla, pecan aroma, very big. Smooth, bigger body. Light carbonation. Nice light chewiness. Light bitter taste, some wood, little alcohol burn, some light dark fruit, some light tannins. Very tasty big oatmeal stout. Love it. b3shine (9079) - Indiana, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Bomber to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a dark cola with thin beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; sweet, malty, and nutty with a nice bourbon presence. Good on the palate. Good beer. alexsdad06 (10672) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2012
22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and the nut character from the pecans. The flavor has big roasted malts, bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla, nuts with a moderately sweet smooth quality from the oatmeal. I have also had this on draft and found it to be great there.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2012 22 oz. bottle from alexsdad06- thanks again, Brad! 2010 vintage. Bottle 43/168. Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, dark fruits, caramel, cola, sugar, oak, and molasses. Flavor of vanilla, bourbon, oak, roasted malts, coffee, root beer, oats, nuts, molasses, and dark fruits- very busy. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, chewy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. A lot going on in this one, and not the most graceful merging of the base beer and barrel notes. Re-Rate: Have to bump this one up to a 3.8 after trying it again and finding it to be right on the money for a bourbon barrel porter. It was bottle 167/168 and was a lot different than bottle 43. fonefan (50751) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 14, 2012

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, vanilla - chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Bottle @ Papsø. 2010 bottle 154/168. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small fast disappearing tan head. Has a roasted malty bourbon vanilla and chocolate aroma. Sweetish roasted malty nutty pecan and chocolate flavor with bourbon and vanilla hints. Has a sweetish roasted malty bourbon vanilla and pecan finish. jesperhammer (4875) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 2, 2012
22-MAR-2012, bottle @Papsø.
Black with brown/yellow head.
Sweet bourbon nose.
Sweet malty taste, mostly just bourbon, though.
Where is the roast? Low carbonation.
Barrel aging overdone. Could just drink plain bourbon in stead. hamilton23 (619) - Alpine, California, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours dark brown with almost no head. Very little carbonation at all. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, nuttiness. Taste is chocolate and some bourbon, a touch of vanilla. This is pretty damn tasty.
