Draft Extreme Beer Fest 2016. Pitch black color with an oily sheen on top of the liquid. Aroma shows big bourbon, Don’t smell almonds.Minderbinder (3469) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 27, 2015
The body is full with a oily slick texture, how a impy stout should be. Great roasty character with some lasting bourbon after the sip. No alcohol noticeable. The flavor and mouthfeel are wonderful. But it doesn’t really display nuts/ almonds. This was sampled early on so it wasn’t my palate either. Still real tasty.
Pours very dark brown/black with low light-brown head. Aroma is of lots of chocolate, roasted malt, sugar, alcohol. Taste is of almonds, nuts, sugar, vanilla, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Palate: Full bodied, soft carbonation. Warming alcohol. Overall: Very good. Quite special (nuts). Dogbrick (14331) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 1, 2015
Sample during the bottle sale weekend on 05/09/2015. Brownish-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roast malt, bourbon and almonds. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, dark chocolate, almond and malt. The finish is bourbon and chocolate-covered almonds. Solid beer all around. phaleslu (10907) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 23, 2015
Draft at the Public House. Pours a cloudy deep brown with a beige ring that leaves spots of film. Notes of vanilla, toasted brown sugar, almonds, cola, roasted malts, oak, and a steady bourbon warming presence throughout. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, warming mouthfeel. Nice variant. Another good addition to the Dark App canon. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2015
5oz on tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy dark brown, near-black color. Thin light brown head, leaving loose dots of lace. Awesome almond dark chocolate, mild vanilla, touch of smoke. Nice amount of bourbon warmth, but not hot. Bigger body. Good chewiness to the texture. Lighter carbonation. Moderate bitter, moderate-plus sweet. Light bite in the finish. Very enjoyable to sip at slowly. 4oz was a good amount. Drinks like 13%+.

Draft at EBF. Pours dark brown - nose/taste of almond, bourbon, oak, roast chocolate and coffee - Full bodied. rodenbach99 (4678) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - APR 11, 2015
EBF 2015.

Appearance: Black with a small bubbly brown head and no lacing.
Aroma: Almonds, boozy notes, roasted malts, chocolate, light spiciness and vanilla notes.
Taste: Quite sweet with boozy notes, lots of almonds, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, light acidic presence... quite complex.
Palate: Full body. Moderate carbonation. Oily. Mouth coating. Long lasting roasty finish.
Overall: A bit heavy and hard to drink. Balance is average to good.... it’s really flavorful, but not perfectly cohesive. Good BA RIS.
Deep oily black appearance. Aroma is nice almond sweet caramel and toffee with some bourbon. Taste is sweet and a bit chemical heavy with some booze and almonds.
