This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Eleven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected American hops help support the monolithic maltiness of Dark Apparition. After a month of conditioning in stainless steel, the beer was transferred into bourbon barrels. For 8 months, Dark Apparition waited patiently in oak barrels until the time was right to spring forth with its ghostly gusto. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cold resting place. Be aware when in the presence of Dark Apparition cause this ghost is a creeper.

Bottle shared at the last tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Black with a nice brown head. Lovely aroma full of vanilla, bourbon and dark chocolate. Sweet flavor full of chocolate, vanilla, a bit of coffee and an alcoholic touch. Full-bodied, thick and silky. Really great stuff.

Bottle, from b3shine (thanks Beau!), shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Hearty dark brown with a finely bubbled sienna-brown head. Big chocolatey aroma and flavour, matched by a lovely bourbon sweetness. Heavy malts here, slightly brothy (soy), big and chewy. Very nice.

On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer pours black with a medium thick brown head that diminishes to an outer ring eventually. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and bourbon. Rich body with flavors of chocolate, bourbon-soaked wood, dark fruit and a bit of coffee. The finish is roasty with a bittersweet chocolate and booze finish. Very enjoyable overall.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, chocolate, wood, booze. Medium mouth, sweet roast, dark chocolate, really enjoyed this one.

375ml bottle - jet black thick pour with thin head that goes away quickly. Nose of roast and booze. Taste follows with a tad of vanilla and soy sauce. Thick and oily on the palate. Middle of the pack for the style at best.
