This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Eleven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected American hops help support the monolithic maltiness of Dark Apparition. After a month of conditioning in stainless steel, the beer was transferred into bourbon barrels. For 8 months, Dark Apparition waited patiently in oak barrels until the time was right to spring forth with its ghostly gusto. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cold resting place. Be aware when in the presence of Dark Apparition cause this ghost is a creeper.

Bomber, from 2012 i think, courtesy of Tommy and Chris, thanks! Thick black pour, with light chocolate milk head. Aroma, roasted malts, strong whiffs of oak, and vanilla, stings the nose a bit. Taste is roasted malts, loads of oak and wood, almost scrapes the palate, toast dry finish with a touch of warmth from the booze. Really nice.

375 ml bottle in trade from Joe. Huge thanks buddy! Pours dark brown from the bottle and settles as pitch black in the glass with a one finger brown head. Beautiful aroma of rich chocolate and bourbon, lots of woody oak, a hint of vanilla and coconut. Flavor is a nice hit of woody bourbon, vanilla, caramel, more wood and vanilla. Long finish of the vanilla and bourbon, and relatively hot. Mouthfeel is thin for the style, but not overly thin to the point of really hurting the brew, though it comes off as a little hot as noted. Medium plus carbonation. Very nice after dinner drink, and you must love bourbon as it has soaked up a lot of that flavor.

Bottle from brewery via Michael K. Pours a very dark brown/black, little to no tan head. Aroma boozy chocolate, sugar. Body rich and thick, finish positively massive, maple character comes through immensely. Woof!
