Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, some liquorice, alcohol and mild vanillaish notes. Flavour is big time coffee, mild alcohol, some liquorice and roasted malts along with some ashy notes as well.
Bottled at oh6gdx’s birthday bash at chriso’s. Really black, no head. Aroma of treacle and vanilla. Sweet and heavy with massive body. Super sticky and bold, truckloads of treacle and vanilla. Some coffee may be there too. Not a complete trainwreck, but not far from it. Travlr (24913) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 19, 2011
750 ml bottle. Very dark brown, tan head. Has plenty of barrel in the aroma, but too much barrel in the taste for me, it overwhelms the rest of the beer. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2012

ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Opaque black beer, small tan head. Light dry palate. Smooth dark malt. Semi sweet bourbon with coconut. The coffee is quite well buried but a nice beer overall.
Bottle at Pat’s birthday tasting at chriso’s. Pours an oily, rich brown with a foamy, beige head. Rick coffee aroma. Very sweet flavor with plenty of coffee, mocha, roasted malts, brown sugar, some lightly stinging booze. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm finish with wood, roast, booze, coffee, mocha. Good stuff overall. harrisoni (18579) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2011
Bottle at Chriso Patriks Bday tasting. Black beer. Thin tan head. Classy choc. Good coffee. Bit of heat on finish. Coffee choc liquer finish. Choc cookie finish. jtclockwork (16602) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 11, 2011
Bottle 104 of 213. Pours black. Quickly disappearing brown head. Nose/taste of fresh coffee, roast chocolate, oak and vanilla. Taste has some light lactose sweetness and cocoa. The coffee is definitely front and center in both nose and taste. Medium body. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 3, 2011
A: The beer pours black in color with a finger of tan colored foam.
S: Plenty of coffee aroma to this. It’s really nice and has a touch of spice to it. Lots of vanilla and bourbon notes with a touch of oak. Chocolate and roasted malt aromas to go along with all the coffee.
T: A fairly substantial amount of semi-sweet dark chocolate to go with all the intense coffee. Still lots of bourbon and vanilla from the barrel and minimal oak. Moderate sweetness of toffee and molasses.
M: Medium to full bodied with a medium carbonation.
O: Easily the best of the Dark Apparition varieties that I’ve had. Really nice stuff. djd07 (14591) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 30, 2015
Bottle thanks to George. Pours a dark brown with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is light roast and chocolate. Thin mouth with dark chocolate, coffee roast, bourbon, light bitterness, very good.
