Sweet cherry aroma, color is pitch black with a deep red sheen. Lots of flavor of roasted caramel, thick dark sugar and molasses, very slight bourbon character shines through, too. Not boozy at all. On tap at the 12 South Winter Warmer beer festival in Nashville, TN. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 14, 2012
Joey pulled this out at CCB for us, thanks! Nearly black pour, dark brown head. Aroma of bourbon and cocoa puffs. Flavor is much the same, very smooth, not hot at all. Really a great brew! jtclockwork (16443) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Bottle 134 of 298. Pours black with brown head. Nice lacing on the glass. Nose/taste is amazing - lots of deep roasted chocolate, maple, cooked oatmeal, cherry vanilla, roasted nuts, honey and bourbon barrel. Finishes smooth and clean - not boozy. Medium body. One of my favorites from Jackie O’s. JaBier (7841) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2011
Sample at Jackie O’s 6th Anniversary Extravaganza on 12/3/11. Black pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of booze, chocolate and maple. Flavor starts with bourbon and milk chocolate, then some roast before a bitter dark chocolate finish. ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - JAN 23, 2012
22oz bottle, #245/298, courtesy of a cool BA trader. pretty damn excited to try this one. pours a deep, dark brown with ruby highlights and sits almost black in the glass topped by a smooth, thin, dark beige head that leaves oily sheets of lace. aroma is absolutely fantastic with heavy notes of cinnamon and spice oatmeal, griddled french toast, roasted coffee, and honey graham cookies backed by wet earth, tobacco, and molasses with smooth, elegant notes of vanilla, oak, and bourbon barrel emerging as it warms. flavor is simply wonderful as well rich notes of woody bourbon, vanilla, and toasted oak coming to the forefront ahead of sweet maple syrup, oatmeal, and smokey malts with subtle notes of bitter molasses, black cherries, and spent coffee grinds on the back end. palate is medium bodied yet smooth and rich on the swallow with just a trace of barrel infused heat ahead of the dry, semi-sweet, roasted finish. overall, an damn nice brew from JO’s.

22 oz. bottle via trade. I forgot to write down the bottle number out of 298, but this was the 2011 release. Pours a deep, dark brown with some amber around the edges and a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, oak, honey, maple, tobacco, vanilla, coffee, and bourbon. I expected more sweetness from the honey and maple, but it all really comes together in a smooth, mellow way. Beautiful flavor of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, maple, bourbon, molasses, fired oak, toasted sugar, and coffee. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, sticky mouthfeel and low carbonation. This one exceeded expectations. illidurit (2327) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Bottle shared at Woodshop 7. Creamy, vanilla, sweet, dry coffee finish, absolutely delicious. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014
"Dang, I’m liking this Jackie O’s. They know how to make a stout! This super smooth oatmeal imperial has an interesting subtle addition of maple syrup. that combined with the base beer, and the vanilla sweetness of the bourbon barrels make for one nice dessert. you can taste each component, which is nice in a barreled brew. quite choclatey as well."
