neongolden (1716) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2017
(On tap @ CBC 2016 Red Session, Copenhagen) Pours very dark brown, nearly black, with a deep beige head. Nose of substantial malt body, layers of toffee, caramel, sweet bread, dried fruit, sweet bourbon, moderate amount of nuts, dates and figs, vanilla, woody. Flavour is pretty sweet, raw sugar, toffee, sweet bourbon, coconut, woody, leather, bitter toast, nuts, slight chocolate, alcohol, a bit hot. Medium full, a bit oily, with no carbonation. The nuts add a little which is interesting, but it’s still pretty barrel heavy and sweet all the same.

ctipping (2179) - Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2017
375 mL bottle. Deep amber. Small khaki head. Smells of strong bourbon, oak, lots of sweetness. Tastes of really aggressive bourbon. It dominates most of the flavor. Some brown sugar sweetness. Nutty in the back end with a long oaky bourbon finish. Heavy, boozy, and sweet. Just interesting enough to justify the booze and sugar.

Bottle. Watery brown pour with a fleeting white head. Nice caramel nose. Taste follows suit. I mean it’s a bit thin and watery with some bitter roasted malt and what I think is "nuts". Average body and mouthfeel.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7901) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 11, 2016
Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a black color with a trace tan head that left no lacing. The aroma was rum, bourbon, coconut, vanilla and toasted caramel. The flavor was bourbon, coconut, intense alcohol presence, toasted caramel and chocolate. Long bourbon, coconut and caramel finish. Full bodied but flat. Booziness overwhelms.
