Dark fruit. Tons of it. Vanilla, caramel. Pours a dark purple/brown with minimal dark tan head. Candy sweet. Smooth with a hint of effervescence. Vanilla, fruit. A hint of pipe tobacco. Nice warmth on the finish.

30/V/17 - 12Fl. OZ. bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2017-692) Thanks to Trevor and Ster for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: fantastic stuff, lots of bourbon, sweet, vanilla, chocolate milk, alcohol, really intense rich and deep smell! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sourish, lots of vanilla, sweet, caramel. Aftertaste: more sweet malts, caramel, vanilla, very nice stuff, lots of alcohol though!

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, green session. Aroma has toffee, bourbon and dried dark fruits. Taste is balanced. Lots of toffee, butterscotch, raisins with a light toffee sweetness. Aftertaste lingers with smooth bourbon.

Barwa ciemno brązowa, mętna. Aromat przyjemny, aczkolwiek bardziej pod Brown Ale - głównie toffi, karmel, brązowy cukier Muscovado, do tego suszone daktyle, rodzynki i wanilia, w tle czekolada i bourbon. W smaku dość słodkie, palony, ciemny cukier na pierwszym planie, melasa, suszone owoce, kakao, kawa, wanilia, whisky... W kontrze średnia do niskiej, palono tytoniowa goryczka, wyraźne alkoholowe rozgrzewanie i lekka szorstkość.

Thought I was pouring a stout at first! Thick caramel pour with medium viscous tan head. Amazing fruit and bourbon nose. Dried fruit combo of grapes/pears/figs/dates for the flavor followed by a brown sugar tart cherry pie finish. O jackie Ooooo . . .

Bottle 101/168, Batch 8/15 A special thanks to Schibli for sharing this bottle of elixir. Pours very dark brown/black/purple with espresso colored, thin but creamy head. Lacing sticks on sides of glass and paints the sides dark brown. Aroma is heavy bourbon with oak, vanilla, and fruit cobblers. Taste is initially bourbon, fruit cake, a touch of sea salt, dark chocolate. Amazing depth of flavors, many layers here. Finish is ultra smooth, strong bourbon burn, but creamy and drinkable. An amazing beer

Sample on pubside .. Pours a dark brown with thin tan head aroma is rich but clean Belgian and definitely some oak and bourbon. Flavor is a lot more bourbon than the aroma would suggest but there is a rich malt backbone to this that is roasty and then some Belgian yeast character and some alcohol warmth, some dark fruits plum. Overall I am really digging everything comin out of these bourbon barells and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Maddog (528) - Kettering, Ohio, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Bottle purchased at the brewery in Athens. Another killer barrel aged offering from Jackie O’s. The pour was dark brown with aromas of bourbon and dark fruits. Flavors of bourbon, oak, vanilla and dark fruits are woven together in this deliciously complex beer.

It poured a hazy dark brown color with a brown head. The aroma was of sweet maltiness and some bourbon alcohol. It had a medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. The taste was of sweet bourbon with a nice sweet finish. A very complex brew, but nicely done.
