Hazy amber brown beer, short lived off white head. Fairly dry palate with moderate carbonation. Sweet dry malt. Dried fruits. A little wood and sweet brandy. Dry finish. All right but I was hoping for something a lot more substantial and structured.
Bottle shared downtown during RBWG 2014 - Asheville Late-Nite. Cheers! Pours clear gold with a bubbly head. Tangy and leafy, lightly astringent, with notes of wood and ripening berries. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tangy and drying on the finish, woody. OK. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Bottle thanks to jrallen34. Pours muddy brown with tan head. Nose/taste of brandy barrel, caramel, toffee, biscuit and sweet malt. Lots of warming alcohol in the finish. Medium body. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 19, 2012
Pours amber in color with a khaki colored head. There’s a light butter quality to the nose which is not very pleasing. Some sweet toffee and other sugar notes to go with a hint of vanilla and oak. Just a hint of brandy on the nose. The flavor is similarly lackluster. Mild brandy, sweet toffee and malt, and too much butter (well, any is really too much). Maybe just a hint of dark fruit. Medium body and carbonation. djd07 (14471) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 5, 2012
Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Pours a cloudy orange copper with small frothy off white head. The aroma is oak and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt. A decent American strong ale from Jackie-O’s.

Tap sample. Poured dark hazy brown color with an average frothy brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex earthy hop and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy same hop and woody bittersweet flavor with a solid bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer. Drake (13728) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 10, 2014
RBWG14 Trip Rating #28. Bottle shared at the Friday Night Downtown Inn Bottle Share. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of heavy wood, earth, leather, toffee, brandy. The taste is tart stone fruits, earth, raisin, brandy. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - APR 5, 2012
(Bottle) Pours a hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of oak, brandy, vanilla, nuts, and herbs. Flavor of brandy, oak, bread, caramel, and herbs. Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 30, 2011
Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale on 08/27/2011. Murky brownish-amber color with a thin and compact off-white head that burns away steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Boozy aroma with some phenols and malt. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, brandy and touches of tart fruit. The finish is sweet malt at first and leaves a tinge of astringent alcohol behind. A little disjointed overall. Sammy (12197) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 12, 2011
My first Jackie-O. The aroma had the brandy. Sour, cherryish, astringent, medicinal. Overcarbonated. Grows on me, so drinkable. Decent beer, but overall disappointing.
