UPDATED: OCT 11, 2013 Cellared 2011 bomber shared, and poured to snifters displaying a darkest brown color, with ruby highlighting, little to no head & lacing, but a bit of leggy coating on the glass. The nose was controlled yeasty funk, dark red wine, chocolate, cherry, and a touch of underlying roastiness. The taste had more of a lingering sour nature to it, with cherry, barrel/tanniny astringency, and dryness to the finish. Held up quite well, although much of the Porter profile faded, and the alcohol mellowed. tom10101 (6267) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 4, 2013
Bottle (22 oz). Shared by cparles, thanks! Dark brown with a small off-white head and little lacing. Aroma of dark cherries, light roasted malt, chocolate, wood and mild Cabernet notes. It was mild at first, but it became a little more complex as it warmed. Taste is slightly sweet with tart cherries, roasted malt, vinous notes, oak and light chocolate. Alcohol is really well hidden. Light to medium body. Good carbonation. Slightly winey mouthfeel. A tad watery too. Not very complex (components of this beer doesn’t merge well to create layers of complexity) beer considering it’s a 10% abv dark Sour Ale, but not bad at all either. Drinkable for the style and enjoyable. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 31, 2013
22oz bottle, shared by caterwaul. Bottle 30/312, 2012 vintage. Very dark brown color. Thin light brown head. Leaves nice arcs and dots of lace. Awesome cabernet dark grape, chocolate aroma, light wood. Very nice light to moderate tart taste, not overly sour, but pleasantly so. Light sweet taste. Bigger body. Nice chewiness to the texture. Light carbonation. Lightly sticky texture. Awesome, delicious complex barrel-aged imperial porter. SudsMcDuff (8496) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - MAY 24, 2013
sample from the newer creepier label .. . pours a ruby brown .. light head, light lacing .. . some cherry, jam, twisted yeast, and stupid flowers . . very quick finish with an empty finish .. needs more girth .. . . driving through an entire group of cyclists isn’t a tragedy, its justice!

So a really funky and weird idea. It came out more of a fruit beer than anythign for me, the porter dosn’e dominate the huge barrel and cherry notes. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 2, 2013

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark reddish brown with white head, aroma brought notes of oak, cabernet grapes, some slight red raisin, dark fruits, rich caramel and toffee, some sour fruit notes with a hint of lactic acid, with a ever so slight hint of acetic acid. Taste was a mix of slight tart fruit with lots of cabernet grapes, hints of caramel, toffee, some acetic and lactic acids, finishing with an oaky dry finish. Wish there was more cherry, it got kind of lost. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - OCT 20, 2012

Bottle: The aroma consists of tart cherry, vinegar, vinous notes, and a hint of chocolate. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a minimal tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with some light chocolate and caramel. The finish has tart cherry, lemon, and light vinegar. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.
Pours jet black with no head. Aroma of smoke, roasty malts, and dark fruit. Tastes roasty yet fruity. Nice balance. Interesting beer. Not my favorite but still good
