22 ounce bottle at GABF 2012. Pours a almost totally black color with a small white head, A big nose of tobacco and roast, some odd barrel notes. A sweet mix of fruit and tobacco, leather, wood, earthy at times and roast. Interesting. theisti (4179) - Kansas, USA - AUG 30, 2012
Approximately 4 ounce sample at the Jackie O’s Public House in Athens, Ohio. The pour is hazed brown black ruby with not much of a tan head. The aroma is big Cabernet wine, light malt sweet and roast behind that. The taste is big Cab character, sour cherries, and followed by the light roast of the porter. The palate is medium bodied, still, oily, dry wine booze and cherry character finish. Nice, though a bit heavy handed on the wine character. Creative, well executed. thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - AUG 28, 2012
Pours a deep brown to slight red hints. Aroma is porter and coffee some slight cherry note and sour aromas. Taste is coffee and hints of chocolates with and cherry acid. Overall it works fairly well . Sheerbrewing (117) - Athens-Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 25, 2012
On tap, pours a dark brownish blck with a thin tan head. Aroma has a lot of funk and dark fruits with a tart cherry. Flavor is awesome this is my kind of beer lots of funk and a vinous cherry tart but there is a porter hidden under the funky yeast roasted malt comes through. overall this is a good craft brew I like the funky and the wino cherry. The beer is a dark brown (reddish tints) color, with a small, thin head that leaves but a touch of lacing on the glass. The aroma and taste are consistent with one another: barrels, a tannic presence, wine, cherries. The flavor is decent, with an acetic finish. The feel is medium bodied with a solid carbonation level. Overall, a decent and interesting brew and one that I would be happy to have again.

Very dark red beer, light passes through - just! Lovely nose of quality red wine and dark cherry. Light palate, fairly dry. Tangy beer - bordering sour. Man this is good! The red wine dominates, tangy, fruity and with peppery blackcurrant. The base porter peeps through with a mild fresh dark malt. Seamlessly integrated is sweet and sour cherry. Finishes a little tart with more cherry and red wine. The most wine like beer I’ve had and head and shoulders above the other wine barrel beers.
Bomber from StFun: 113 out of 300 and some odd number... Label looks a little different.. pink 70’s trippy jesus looking dude on it. Color, threw me off, dark, almost a light stout color with a little head full of lively little bubbles. Nice nose on this! Light cherries, some black cherries notes... Taste is very toned down, (in a good way) not the sourness that I was expecting but still very tasty. Well balanced with some other dark fruits and some Cab notes. Light body for porter base. Overall: A unique sour, that I enjoyed. Thanks Josh! nimbleprop (8723) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 27, 2012
22oz bottle pours a watery, fully translucent black with ruddy edges and some creamy, fading head. Nose is big, vinous, red grapes, red wine vinegar, cherries. Flavor is sweet, tart, cherries, some nice chocolate roastiness, some balsamic, red grape. Sour but not abrasive, acidic finish. 50belair (3680) - Florida, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Bottle shared at Huny day. Brown pour with no head. The body is really thin on this one. Cherry nose. Sort of like a sour bruin with more cherry notes.
