D-nice balance and very interesting. dark cherries and balanced make it like a chocolate covered cherry with a nice balance. very enjoyable, one of the best beers I’ve had from Jackie O’s. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - APR 24, 2011
On tap at the Jackie O’s One Funky Afternoon event. Served in a tulip. This was my favorite of the event.
Pours a reddish-brown color with a thin tan head and a bit of lacing. Nose: Damn, this is going to be a good one. Great cherry and wine combo hits at the front with a mild tannic character. I can tell this is going to be dry and sour. A bit of light roast is left underneath. Barrel shines through as well, particularly as it warms up. The flavor is masterfully blended with a nice complexity consisting of oak, tannin, acid, cherries, roast, and a bit of red wine. Feel is light to medium with a tart, dry finish. Bit of funk comes through in the end. The barrel character is really apparent in this one. Absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to get into my bottles of this.

2011 bottle 83 of 384 with many thanks to Beerman6686! Pours dark almost black with off white/light tan head. Vinous notes with dark cherries, oak, chocolate covered cherries and soured caramel. Taste is essentially the same. Nice velvety texture. Initially very vinous with a nice sour cherry body. The chocolate/caramel porter comes out more in the finish. Sprinkles of oak and vanilla throughout. Well balanced. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 4, 2011
This poured a dark ruby red color with a small off white head. Aroma was brett, light funkiness, and a good amount of sour and sweet cherries. Flavorw was very tart upfront, followed by a nice sweet dark cherry finish. Notes of cab and the barrel are there just a bit as well JStax (6509) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - APR 3, 2011
On tap into a sampler glass. Appearance is a dark brown with almost no head. Aroma is of brett and cherries. Taste is initially sour but quickly moves on to a chocolate covered cherry taste with a nice sour finish and a touch of barrel in the background. Heavy beer but I could easily have had a couple pints of this and been very happy.

bottle 84/156 at dak’s on 7/29/10.
dark woody/cherry brown.
lots of cinnamon-y cherries in the aroma... followed by roast, mustiness/damp, vinous, wood and a touch of sourness.
the flavor is dominated by sweet and tart cherries with secondary roles played by chocolate, roast, slight bitterness, wood and some herbaceous qualities.
the tartness really keeps the body from becoming enjoyable. 7/4/6/3/14- Ungstrup (37678) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 4, 2011
