UPDATED: JUL 5, 2009 Rating #800,Growler from goryshkewych, thanks George. Dark brown pour, with a thin head. Bourbon up front with a slight vanilla sweetness in the backround, some honey as well. More bourbon in the flavor, raisins and other dark fruits, very nicely balanced and a good complexity too it, another homer for Jackie-Os barrel aged program. On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma has vinous notes along with oak, vanilla and malt. Rich and smooth body with flavors of bourbon, chocolate and dark fruit. The finish is fruity and malty with a slow bourbon burn. Enjoyable from start to finish. bgburdman9 (861) - columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 17, 2009
On draft at jackie o’s twice. This is a great blend because I love both of these beers. There is a lot of bourbon coming through and at times it seems like a little bit too much but it is very tastey overall. Pretty complex with some dark fruit flavors, chocolate, honey. Good body but not too sweet. JaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2009
Growler sample at Muckfest 2009 Day 2. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon and vanilla with hints of chocolate and sugary honey. Bourbon and oaky flavor up front with caramel, chocolate and just a bit of tartness on the finish. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - SEP 9, 2009
Dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma is sweet, vanilla, honey, wood, caramel and a light roast and bourbon. Flavor is all of the above but better. So smooth and rich with the right sweetness and great level of bourbon and vanilla. Some dark chocolate cake flavors mixed right in there too. Nice.

draft... Brad luckily found the last keg of this, top 2 beer of the night, had multiple samples, outstanding, great undertones of bourbon with coconut and rich chocolate, great blend that I hope is done again in the future wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 10, 2014

Tasted on 4/28/12 with the Nashville and Knoxville crews at Curtis’ old house, big thanks to JR for bringing this one. Pours dark brown with a brick tint and no head, but a thin bubbly collar. The nose is date, chocolate covered raisin, molasses, dark chocolate, vanilla, maple, brown sugar, and plenty of bourbon. The flavor is a bit light with cola, chocolate covered raisin, vanilla, maple, and brown sugar, but it is very dry despite all of these sweet descriptors. The body is full with light carbonation and a long molasses, cola, and chocolate covered raisin finish.
Like everyone else, I wondered what the ’secret’ release would be at the 10th Anniversary extravaganza. I couldn’t believe this was it - the only Cellar Cuvee that wasn’t bottled, the only one I’d never tried before. I got my full bottle allotment and a couple draft pours at the Production Facility. It pours a deep, opaque cocoa brown with a small tan head that settles into a ring and lightly laces the glass. The Dark App base made it hard to distinguish from the Spirit Beast and Cognac Dark App, especially in appearance, but also in more subtle ways. But it became more apparent after the Cognac warmed that this was CC1, with rich notes of vanilla, mild roast, cocoa, honey, brown sugar, oak, pralines, and molasses. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, smooth mouthfeel that finishes sticky. Really nice and satisfying. I liked it better than the other two new releases, by a hair. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAY 26, 2009
Had at Hophead22’s Imperial Stout Tasting. Thanks Tim. Brown with almost no head. Bourbon and oak aroma. A sweet grainy taste with hints of honey and raisin, good chocolate flavor, tangy palate, a citrus oaky finish, and pleasant alcoholic sourness lingering in the back of the throat. fiver29 (1112) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Bottle shared by Brad and Art. Thanks! Pours black with tan head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, roast, and coffee. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor has a coconut, coffee, dark roast layer. And finishes semi sweet with a dark fruit component. Good stuff and thanks for sharing!
