Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, coffee, ash, dusty. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet vanilla, coconut, chili. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown with a small, creamy, khaki head. The incredible, complex bouquet is a decadent marriage of big-time cinnamon and chocolate, espresso, vanilla, oak, pouch tobacco and subdued bourbon. Full-bodied with a lightly oily mouthfeel and restrained carbonation. The flavor is first and foremost tangy, but also offers very nice essences of espresso, unsweetened dark chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Mildly tart, mocha, lightly bitter finish. So much going on here, it’s almost overwhelming. I couldn’t drink a lot of this, but I can’t drink a lot of Cognac or 30-year-old single malt Scotch either. Drinkability does not always equal greatness. This is great. Thanks to sebletitje for sharing this world class brew! joergen (28168) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 17, 2010

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, over ripe fruit, cocoa beans, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wood, brettanomyces, caramel, cocoa beans, chocolate, end straw, leading to a lightly bitter finish. yespr (45508) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2010

Bomber #58/156 shared by BOLTZ. Pours mahogany brown with a thin tan head. The nose is peppers, wood, roasted malt. The taste is sour cherries, burnt malt, green peppers. Medium mouthfeel. Interesting beer. A little too astringent for me. Thanks for sharing it J! BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - SEP 3, 2010
Bottle 58 of 156 acquired via trade with alexsdad06...thanks again Brad!!! Jet black pour with a small latte head. Tons of chocolate, roasted coffee bean, cherry skin, bourbon, vanilla, and oak. The tartness might not have been intended but really isn’t distracting. Didn’t get a strong indication of the cinnamon...would have been a nice addition. Good. sebletitje (10080) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2010
Via BA trade.
pours black, tan head.
aroma, lots of coffee, roasted malts with plenty of barrel in the nose.
flavors, barrel, light cinnamon, chocolate malts, espresso/coffee palate adding a mild bitterness in the finish.
Overall abv adds a nice warming mouthfeel making this one another nicely done barrel aged beer. Java profile is moderate providing a nice blend with the use of cinnamon.
