Bottle. Pours murky brown. Nose and taste of semi tart raspberry, oak, chocolate, crunchy butterscotch toffee and caramel. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 12, 2011
A: This is a pretty ugly beer. Murky, opaque, dark reddish/amber with no head.
S: Just a wonderful aroma...butter, bourbon, and dark fruits. There is quite a bit of cherry and raspberry aroma. A bit of vanilla and oak with some light chocolate and vinegar.
T: As crazy and disjointed as the nose was, the flavor is pretty much the same. Toffee, chocolate, bourbon, and butter are the biggest flavors but there is also a distinct vinegar and raspberry character.
M: Medium in body with somewhat low carbonation.
O: Just all over the place and not very good. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 26, 2011

Taste is moderately sweet, raspberry, some Bourbon, light sour, alcohol. Medium-full body, some stickiness. Dogbrick (13518) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2010
On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer is a murky reddish-brown color with a thin light beige head that diminishes to an outer ring quickly. Short strings of lacing. Sour fruity aroma with some malty notes. Medium body with a moderately sour character and flavors of tart fruit, malt and oak. The finish is tart with a lingering berry aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

shared by jtclockwork-pours a white ring for a head and orange/amber color. Aroma is roasty/earthy, raspberry. Taste is tart raspberry, medium malt, wood, hint of bourbon.
Bottle shared by Brad, thanks! Poured a hazy amber with a slowly dissipating near white head. Aroma had a relatively strong sweet grain note with a slight tart fruit undertone. Flavor had darker grains with nice tart raspberry undertone. hopscotch (11180) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 26, 2010
Bottle… South Florida Throwdown 2010… Cloudy caramel-colored ale with very little to no head. The nose offers tons of wood, a boatload of caramel and measured raspberry. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor presents a mélange of caramel, tangy berries, moderate acidity, wood and modest alcohol warmth. Finishes tangy, and then malty, caramely and buttery. Bottle courtesy darkguardian!
