3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 168/300 shared by daknole -- thanks! Pours a dark brown shade with a beige ring of foam. Odd sour note in the aroma and at the front of the palate -- likely lactose. Improves on the mid and as the beer warms with notes of sweet malt, brown sugar, and vanilla. Okay.
(backlog) RBSG ’11 GT Bottle. Black pour. Chocolate, sweet malt, and vanilla aromas. Flavor is roasted, complex, dark malts and barrel aged. wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 20, 2014

Tasted on 4/28/12 with the Nashville and Knoxville crews at Curtis’ old house, big thanks to JR for bringing this one. Pours hazy dark cola brown with a very thin tan head that leaves thin lace. The nose is milk chocolate, earthy yeast, some maple, and brown sugar. The flavor is milk and dark chocolate syrup with vanilla, coconut, maple, and brown sugar with a bit of roasted bitterness. The body is full with just lighter than average carbonation and a long dark chocolate, coconut, and nicely bitter finish.

2/23/2011: Jackie O’s Cellar Cuvee 4... Aroma: Butter
toffee, caramel, and barrel char; maybe a touch of black cherry.
Appearance: Dark red-amber color; mostly opaque; static, thin, dark
beige veil on the surface. Flavor: Red wine, vanilla, caramel,
barrel char, and a bit of sweet bourbon; strong finish with alcohol
seeping out through the nostrils. Palate: Medium-full; subtle
carbonation; very smooth; milky mouthfeel. Overall: Good combination
of beers with a lot of great, complex flavors mingling together...<br

Thanks Tom! Rating #68 for this beer.
Bottle as a generous extra thanks to Chris. Flat, cloudy mahogany pour with no head. Smells of soy sauce, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and prune. Some wood, bourbon, and cardboard. The flavor is very sweet and fairly oxidized. Cardboard, soy sauce, caramel, dark fruit, and chocolate. Prunes, bourbon, and a bit of oak. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 14, 2013
651mL thanks to womencantsail. Pours a flat, deep brown, bubbles only. Nose is tawny, approaching savory soy and something like porcini mushroom. There is also something in the background like cranberries that hints at some sort of impending sourness. Taste is dusty, some chocolate, mild cranberry, tootsie roll. Little if any acid. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Strange.

22 oz. bottle via trade- thanks, Puddintane! Bottle 133/300. Pours a deep cola brown with a small beige ring for a head. Aroma of grapes, balsamic vinegar, vanilla, oak, brown sugar; I wrote ’vanilla’ twice in my notes so that one must have come through a lot. Flavor of roasted malts, berries, chocolate, vanilla, oak, caramel, brown sugar, and cola. A lot going on here. Light-medium bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and low carbonation. Fruity and complex. Bomber to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a murky dark brown with light beige lacing. Smells semi-sweet and boozy. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Interesting, and not in a bad way. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 5, 2012

Bottle 239 of 300
This beer appears a very dark shade of brown. The head is but a wee one, and leaves a minimal amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of wood barrels, alcohol, roast, malt, and dark fruits. I found this beer to be rather tasty. This is one of the better offerings I have had from Jackie O’s. Complex and intriguing with a delicate balance among many bold flavors. Well done. I would like to have this again.

Pours black with a thin tan head, mild lacing. Nice aroma, sweet vanilla, caramel, mild chocolate. Very sweet flavors, lots of vanilla with bourbon, more booze than in the aroma, sweet fruit, burnt sugar. Medium body, light carbonation. Very very sweet.
