Bomber to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; black with light beige lacing. Smells solid, but strangely funky with some roastiness and booze. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Really interesting brew. Obviously, this has been infected (I assume unintentionally). Pours a black hue with a medium brown head. A nose of sweet grapes big brandy and roast. UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 Thanks Doug for 22oz bottle. Dark brown, somewhat hazy, tan head. Aroma: baker’s chocolate, licorice, some toffee, dark fruit, oak evident. Flavor: toasty bready malt, dry baker’s chocolate, firm bitterness, some dry woody barrel notes with some tobacco. Full bodied and lightly warming.

Poured from a 22ounce bottle, thanks Doug. Nice chocolate notes, rich wine characters, some brettanomyces, cherries. Very interesting, not well balanced, but tasty.

Pours almost black, thin short lived tan head. Nose of dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, sweet dark fruit. The flavor is sweet up front, dark toasty malt, dark chocolate, with tart and boozie notes in the finish. Very smooth feel, low carbonation, boozie finish. 22 oz bottle acquired in trade. Pours a richer brownish pour, dark and near opaque with some good darkness, ruby amber glowing edges. A frothy tannish head dies to a ring, laces ok. Aromas are tart and nutty, some cocoa, roast, and oak. Gentle toast, vanilla, spirit and vanilla. Some tartness, funk. Initial is medium bodied, lighter end with some dryness, tartness and funk as we get in. Oak and vanilla, funk. Gentle tartness, nuts and cocoa, toast, and toffee. Some nuts, vanilla, gentle sourness on the palate into the middle, some oak, roast, bretty funk. Backend is tart, sour cherry lingering. Some funk. Gentle brandy and apple tartness, backend. Bottle from thanks to theAlum. Pours a deep near-black with offwhite head. The nose is moderately roasty and toasty, some tart brett comes through but kind of works here. Cherry and fruity with cocoa. On tasting, again it is tart. Not sure if it is supposed to be, but it is. Drying finish, cocoa and cherries come through again. Medium bodied and tart finish. Bottle... Pours black with a burnt-orange sparkle around the edges. No head. The fruity, deeply-roasted bouquet is a blend of dark chocolate, blueberries and blackberries. Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor presents rich caramel, espresso and dark chocolate flanked by a whisper of tangy blackberries. Malty, vinous, caramel and toffee finish. Bottle shared by darkguardian!
