Pours jet black with no head. Aroma of smoke, roasty malts, and dark fruit. Tastes roasty yet fruity. Nice balance. Interesting beer. Not my favorite but still good

Thanks to Thorpe again... a muddy brown with lots of read, a light tan head ok head and lacing... the aroma is awesome, right away you get tons of the cabernet, very vinous, red wine, grapes, cherries, and funk, awesome... the taste is equally nice, dry cherries, oak, cab, red wine, funky but tannic... this is great, get this

Bottle from hophead84 at a tasting at paytoplay’s place. Wow what a beer so vinious so interesting. Pours brownish with a tan ring. Nose is vinious, nice. Taste is weird cherry, vinous, reallly nice. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 16, 2010
22oz bottle (69 of 156)... Pours a dark caramel brown with a very thin quickly dissipating head... Aroma of cocoa/chocolate with cherry notes thrown into the measure. Lightly tart.... Muddled and earthy sour cherry flavors. Very light carbonation with a somewhat medium body. Not bad but somewhat non-refined. Having said that I would have it again. pineypower (3347) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - JUN 21, 2011
Thanks to someone for sharing this at RBSG. Pours out dark brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is of cherry, light chocolate, and some oaky wine notes. Taste is of chocolate, light roast, cherries, and some oak with a slight bit of alcohol on the finish. Solid.

Bomber bottled on 11/22/2009 and consumed in January 2010. Courtesy juiceisloose. Pours a clear garnet to crimson color with a tiny beige head. Micro-spots of lacing are scattered about the glass. The nose is (predictably) quite vinous, showing peppery wood and juicy, jammy cherry. An acetic tartness works well with the grapey cabernet notes, while hints of leather, vanilla, toasted oak, and mineral earth offer further wine-like tendencies. Dry cocoa bring in just a hint of welcomed, balancing roastiness. Flavors largely follow suit, again based in vinous cherry and grape notes, backed up by drying cocoa and a trace of dried caramel. The buggy barrel influence is nicely assimilated in a brew of this nature, imparting just a bit of needed acetic character. Medium bodied, semi dry, and fizzy on the tongue, the palate is appropriately crisp and a little leathery. Good brew. Unlike some of the other Jackie-O bottle releases, this one actually benefits from the bugs. baraciisch (3337) - California, USA - APR 4, 2016
Dark brown with reddish tint... Aroma of red wine barrel, dark cherries, brown malts... Flavor is amazingly complex, sour cherries, red wine, Cabernet grapes... Cabernet oak on finish... Delicious

Bottle with a big thanks to pantanap for sharing this at the chicagoland ratebeer gathering. Pours a somewhat murky brown with a small beige head. Notes of sour cherries, chocolate, red wine, wood. Very much reminded me of consecration, but this was slighly less acidic and not quite as clean. A nice beer though which I’m quite happy to have tried. hellbilly (3247) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - MAR 7, 2011
bottle 84/156 at dak’s on 7/29/10.
dark woody/cherry brown.
lots of cinnamon-y cherries in the aroma... followed by roast, mustiness/damp, vinous, wood and a touch of sourness.
the flavor is dominated by sweet and tart cherries with secondary roles played by chocolate, roast, slight bitterness, wood and some herbaceous qualities.
the tartness really keeps the body from becoming enjoyable. 7/4/6/3/14- Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 24, 2010
Wow, sour cherry awesomeness! The aroma is sour cherries on top of a smooth malt base. It looks dark brown with a ruby hue and decent head. The great smooth flavor of tart cherries on a nice sour base, Delicious!
