COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our beloved Berliner Weisse and bottled up one of our favorite treatments. Orange zest, real cranberries, and ginger were added during a secondary fermentation/infusion period.

375 mL bottle. Clear golden. Smells of white wine? What? Grain. A little orange and acidity. Tastes of wheat and grain. Interesting. It’s almost like I forgot what a real Berliner tastes like. Back end has some cranberry. Light. Very well made. Not strong on the fruit, but that doesn’t bother me at all.

Draft. Poured hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy wheat, berry, ginger and citrus aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet & sour flavor with a medium to heavy sour & sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good beer.

Draft at Cappy’s during the Jackie O’s tap takeover event. Pours a moderately hazy orange golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have tart orange citrus, hints of lemon and berries, pale wheat malts, light ginger, some orange zest, some acidity, nice take on the style.

Draft to taster at Cappy’s pour avg gold with thin white head. Nose light tart, ginger, citrus. Taste tart up front, them interesting fruit, cranberry and citrus, with ginger undertones. Tart through the finish. Good mix of flavors, just not my thing.

Sample at the brewpub during Jackie O’s 10th Anniversary Extravaganza on 12/05/2015. This beer pours a slightly hazy orange color with a medium white head that burns away steady to a wispy film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of tart citrus, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with a tart orange and subtle cranberry character, with yeast and doughy malt in the background. The finish is sour and fruity with an herbal yeast and citrus aftertaste. Another really good Berliner from Jackie O’s.

5oz on tap at the Public House. Up front… Wooow. Awesome big orange here. Mild cranberry. Great. Like tangerine or clementines. Moderate sour taste, lighter sweet, good tanginess. Hazy orange color, minimal head. Lighter to medium body. Crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Super-tasty. Really refreshing. I should have gotten a full pour of this one instead of the BA imperial stout I had prior.

On tap at the Jackie O’s 10th Anniversary on 12/5/15. Clear orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma of sour orange, berry, lemon and creamy wheat. Cranberry flavor with sour lemon and orange accents before a tart Smarties finish.

Draft at the Brewpub on the 10th Anniversary weekend. Pours a cloudy gold with no head. Tons and tons of orange in this, both aroma and flavor. That’s what I get the most. The cranberry is there, but in a supporting role along with lemon, lime, yogurt, and floral zest. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a juicy, sour, tangy mouthfeel. I’d have liked to see a little more balance between the two fruits, but it’s still really good.

Draft pour at the source into a tulip glass. The beer is a hazy orange color with a white head of foam that lingers for awhile. The aroma has orange zest strong throughout and the cranberries are just in there as a nuance. The taste has more refreshing orange juice characteristics, but I get some white grapefruit juice character as well. My guess is that the cranberries are drying it out and making it taste like that. The acidity is more of a dry tartness, than the juicy sourness that the regular Berliner has. Lighter to medium body and high carbonation. Very good.
