On tap at the Jackie O’s 5th Anniversary Extravaganza. Pours darkest brown with a medium tan head. Strong roasty coffee aroma with chocolate and a bit of cream. Flavor is coffee with a bit of chocolate and a bitter roasty finish. Nothing subtle about the coffee in this beer, and that suits me just fine. jtclockwork (16561) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Draft at brewpub. Pours black. Nose and taste of freshly brewed coffee, dark coffee roast, barrel, roast chocolate malts, vanilla and light bourbon. Well balanced. phaleslu (10239) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Draft at Jackie-O’s. Pours a not quite opaque brown with a tiny tan ring for a head. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate, earth, tobacco, and nuts. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, roasty, earthy, toasty mouthfeel. Fairly simple for a big coffee imperial stout, and it works really well. Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale/ Stout and Big Beer Fest on 02/05/2011. Pours brown-black with a medium thin beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing in the glass. Roasted coffee aroma with notes of malt. Full body with flavors of mild coffee, roasted malt and sweet chocolate. The finish is creamy mocha with a lingering roast aftertaste. Good all around. msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - MAR 5, 2011

On tap at the 2/5 release. Ohio roaster in notes. Dark pour with minmal head and lace. Aggressive coffee aroma flavor but not quite as assertive as the kopi luwak variation Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2011
This poured a very dark brown color almost black with a tan head. Aroma was medium coffe notes and dark roasted malts. Flavor was roasted malts and coffee, rather smooth and not overdone. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2011
On tap at the Anniversary party. I had this side by side with the Kopi, and while is good, the Kopi is killer... Black body with a nice light tan head, good retention, not much lace... Tons of coffee on the front of this, black roasted coffee with an fresh herbal note to it. A little one dimensional but the I like the new coffee note... The taste is like the nose, fresh roasted coffee. This has a touch more going on you get some sweet creamy chocolate notes, but this is all about the coffee. In the middle of the variants but I would have it again.

Draft @ Jackie O’s. Pours a very dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, black coffee and some dark chocolate notes. The flavor is dark chocolate, roasted malts and black coffee. Medium-full bodied. The alcohol remains well hidden behind the good flavors. I am a big fan of the DA treatments. On tap. Black color, good big thick brown head. Light carbonation, creamy texture. Good lace. Nice bitter and sweet taste. I’m told that this batch didn’t taste as "big" as intended (it was just freshly brewed, may need some time to "integrate" still). I’ve never had this before, but it does taste kind of light for a 10.5% brew. Definitely still creamy and bigger-bodied, though. Lightly sticky. Enjoyable brew overall.
