Draft at Jackie-O’s. Pours a not quite opaque brown with a tiny tan ring for a head. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate, earth, tobacco, and nuts. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, roasty, earthy, toasty mouthfeel. Fairly simple for a big coffee imperial stout, and it works really well. On tap. Black color, good big thick brown head. Light carbonation, creamy texture. Good lace. Nice bitter and sweet taste. I’m told that this batch didn’t taste as "big" as intended (it was just freshly brewed, may need some time to "integrate" still). I’ve never had this before, but it does taste kind of light for a 10.5% brew. Definitely still creamy and bigger-bodied, though. Lightly sticky. Enjoyable brew overall. alexsdad06 (10784) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 16, 2011
Draft @ Jackie O’s. Pours a very dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, black coffee and some dark chocolate notes. The flavor is dark chocolate, roasted malts and black coffee. Medium-full bodied. The alcohol remains well hidden behind the good flavors. I am a big fan of the DA treatments. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2011
Coffee da. on tap at JO’s... Pours a dark medium stouty pour with subtler edges
towards the sides with a medium thin tan leathery head... Aroma of
spent grinds with a medium roast...Coffee and somewhat fudgey,
bittersweet chocolate. Fair bit of roast. Medium sweetness with a thin
to medium body. Not bad.

On tap at the Jackie O’s Anniversary Extravaganza. Served side-by-side with a few of the other versions.
Pours a very dark brown color with a thin whisp of a tan head. There is a low cap as it falls with a few bubbles around the edges. The nose brings a strong coffee character that is somewhat unique. The coffee is slightly-roasted, but also brings a fairly-prominent earthy aroma. A bit of dirt in there, in a good way.
The taste is quite similar, though backs off a bit on the coffee. The base flavors are in there with a bit of roast and light chocolate character. The mouthfeel is medium with a pretty good roasted coffee character and nice carbonation. Overall, a pretty good beer that I was happy to try out.

On tap at the Anniversary party. I had this side by side with the Kopi, and while is good, the Kopi is killer... Black body with a nice light tan head, good retention, not much lace... Tons of coffee on the front of this, black roasted coffee with an fresh herbal note to it. A little one dimensional but the I like the new coffee note... The taste is like the nose, fresh roasted coffee. This has a touch more going on you get some sweet creamy chocolate notes, but this is all about the coffee. In the middle of the variants but I would have it again.
