Bottle thanks to Brad! Pours black with a thin dark brown head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma is full of coffee with underlying dark chocolate, vanilla and just the slightest hint of bourbon. Flavor starts with dark chocolate but quickly becomes full of coffee with a bit of vanilla and bourbon breaking through.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2011 Bottle courtesy of the one and only Beace! Thanks Brad! FYI Turd- not a handbottle. Viscous black pour with a thin tan head. Wow this brew smells fricken amazing. Oaky tannins, vanilla, caramelized sugar, coffee and some bourbon. Flavor follows suite. Just too sweet for my tastes

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2011 Bottle shared by Ucusty. Thanks Dave! Dark brown with no head. Super rich vanilla, fusel alcohol, coffee, sweet chocolate. Very cloying palate, lots of sweet vanilla and cocoa, liquid sugar babies. Way too sweet.

Thanks ucusty for sharing. Dark black pour with chestnut edges and one finger of chestnut head. Nose shows leathery notes with dark chocolate and vanilla/oak. Very rich with lots of residual sweetness and some coffee. Flavor is better, very dessertish. Vanilla and chocolate dominate with some coffee and oak. Very rich and sweet on the palate. Cloying almost.

Bottle once again shared by Alexsdad06 @ RBWG...amazing day with good friends!!! This one might be my favorite. Midnight core with a mahogany/chestnut glow around the edges. Tightly packed khaki head that left a spot or two of lacing. Aroma is bold with vanilla bean, Starbucks, smoky wood, bourbon, cocoa, and caramel. Flavor shows assertive vanilla, baker’s chocolate, high quality roasted coffee, toffee, and ash. The bourbon is present but not overdone...get some of the wood. Creamier than some of the other samplings.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a small, creamy, khaki head. The bouquet is to die for… big-time vanilla and mocha – absolutely intoxicating. Full-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor furnishes big vanilla and fudge, but the malts and adjuncts are overshadowed by a mineral bitterness that is a bit off-putting for me. Lightly sweet, vanilla and toffee finish. I was unable to pick up on the benefits of the bourbon barrel aging, but I’m convinced it contributed to the beer’s uncanny smoothness and well-rounded palate. Another world class treatment from the fine folks up in Ohio! Bottle courtesy of darkguardian. Thanks, Chris.

Huge thanks to Brad for giving Amy and I a bottle of this. Shared with friends at a recent tasting and poured into a tulip. Pours darn near black in color with a thin mocha head and a few legs along the sides of the glass. The nose brings forward a really strong barrel character plus a good amount of vanilla and a nice coffee presence as it finishes. If anything, it could use a bit more coffee to really get that characteristic into the mix but I will absolutely not complain at all about how the vanilla and bourbon interacted here. The flavor is a beautiful blend of bourbon and vanilla with some very mild coffee and chocolate in the background. There is a slight heat to the flavor that works well with the vanilla and bourbon. A bit of molasses as well. The body is full and fairly viscous. Great bourbon character throughout. Really enjoyed this one and hope to see it again in the future. Bottle provided by darkguardian. Black pour. The incredible nose reminds me of CoCo Puffs. The body is a little thin, but the taste is very good with vanilla bean, coffee, oak, and chocolate flavors..
