Tasted on 4/28/12 with the Nashville and Knoxville crews at Curtis’ old house, big thanks to JR for bringing this one. Pours nearly black dark brown with no head but a few brown bubbles. The nose is dark chocolate, candied lime zest, coffee, and a hint of anise. The flavor is a touch tart with the same lime zest, a bit spicy, along with plenty of coffee and anise. The body is full with light carbonation and a long dark chocolate and lightly spicy finish.
Anlother infected Jackie Os sour, big surprise. This poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of chocolate, venegar, sour cherries, and some spices. Flavor was anise, chocolate, vinegar and red wine. Certainly infected. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 1, 2013
12oz bottle, shared by alexsdad06. Clear dark brown color. Minimal off-white head. Spicy tart nose, some roastiness. Bigger body. Lightly chewy. Very light carbonation, lightly dry. Moderate to bigger tart taste, with a light spicy kick in the finish. Dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, hint of coffee. Bigger bitterness, moderate sour, but still enjoyable. Solid sour, spicy stout. Bottled. Poured deep brown with a rich, not-quite-as-dark head. The aroma picked up a big hit of slightly metallic bourbon upfront, with licorice and cocoa following.. green, fairly hot chilis followed, and burned the eyes a little.. I enjoyed it, but there wasn’t enough base beer present. The flavor found tangy bourbon throughout.. dry, roasty cocoa and licorice at the core, but again the bourbon dominated.. building peppery warmth, tangy bourbon, and licorice on the long, warm, somewhat sour finish. Medium-plus bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. too much barrel presence in the tartness and flavor departments.. Opaque black beer, short lived tan head. Mild carbonation in the light palate. Mild dark malt with chocolate and very tangy fruits. Belgian like Coca Cola and fruits. Pinch of spice. Nice mix of chocolate and tangy fruits. Unusual.
Nice cocoa nib charter, star anise is noticeable but very much to the back palate as a finish. Will quetzalcuatle seen this worthy of a b'ak'tun-change elixir? One way to find out . . .

Not going to be too harsh on this old beer. Its one of the strangest beers ive ever tasted. Muddled is an understatement. Reminds me of some type of semi-sweet chocolate covered licorice with sour patch kids. Tart, roasty, sweet and wierd. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - AUG 21, 2012

Aroma is sweet lime, sour, sugar. Color is same deep brown flatness we have seen in all of these nano beers. Flavor is light but slightly sour, no flavor of cacao, pepper, but slight anise on the end. arkurzynski (2446) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Big thanks to goryshkewych. 12 oz bottle poured to snifter. Dark brown, almost black with mocha head. Aroma is pretty heavy on the anise and sour pepper/red hots/peppermint. Initial acidic, sour jalapeno followed by some roast malt, brown sugar, chocolate and pepper. Finishes lightly acidic and with some sour burn. Not quite as acidic as other chilipepper beers I’ve had, but just too unbalanced and kind of hard to finish. Not my thing.
