Dark brown pour with almost no head. Woody, oaky, whisky, roast, and some chocolate. Tastes follow with vanilla. Some dark fruits in the back ground. deyholla (11721) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 12, 2010
Bottle shared by Brad, thanks! Poured black with minimal gray head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of dark sweet grains, rye, roasted notes, and a bit of chocolate. Flavor was full of dark grain becoming sweet with a bit of rye alcohol and chocolate. hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2010
Bottle… This beer rocks!... Black ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The bouquet is a fantastic marriage of chocolate, spicy grains, vanilla and a pat of butter. Full-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. Sweet chocolate, tangy wood and spicy, boozy rye whiskey. Lengthy, warm, comforting finish. Thanks again to darkguardian for sharing this rarity!

Dark dark brown pour. Aroma of booze, oak, vanilla, bitter chocolate. Flavor of rye whiskey, nice oaky component, dried plums, raisins, medjool dates. Another gem from JW. Amazing find getting all three Nano beers. alexsdad06 (10471) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 6, 2014
12 oz. bottle from Brad consumed on a couple occasions (from notes). Pours dark brown to black in color with a thin beige head. Nose is dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark grains, rye whiskey, light vanilla and wood. The flavor is the same; dark roasted malts, rye whiskey barrel notes, dark chocolate, vanilla and woody. Smooth mouth feel and quite tasty. Recent bottle was noticeably flatter than my original tasted, but still tasty. Close to the bourbon.

Courtesy of markwise. Pours deep darkness void with micro thin tan head. The aroma is big boozy whiskey, chocolate fudge, smooth caramel covered oak, spicy oak and more booze. The taste is yummy fudge brownie, dark roasted malts, boozy whiskey notes, toffee and black strap molasses. Underneath those notes is a thin undercurrent of wood and what seems like a spicy oak sensation. Very pleasing confluence of flavors. egajdzis (6613) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 6, 2011
Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, roast, dark chocolate, burnt wood, and alcohol. Taste of burnt wood, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee, rye whiskey, and spicy alcohol in the finish. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2013
This one poured a very dark coffee brown color with basically no head. Aroma was of rye whiskey, coffee, dark chocolate, and light sour cherry. Flavor was exposed lightly oxidized and infected barrel, but still mainly stoutish qualities with some rye whiskey in the finish. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Thanks to goryshkewych for the share. Pours obsidian with a small tan head. Nose is chocolate, whiskey, slight fruit, rye, wood, and slight booze. Flavor is similar with wood, chocolate, whiskey, booze, and a nice balanced chocolatey whiskey goodness. Medium bodied and another awesome Jackie O Beer. 50belair (3656) - Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2010
Darkguardian breaking out with the fifth rare Jackie O’s bottle of the night. Pitch black pour with no head. The nose was big time rye whiskey. Oh boy, this bad mutha was hot. The taste was rye whiskey, with a little more rye whiskey, followed by rye whiskey.
