Sampled at 2011 RBWG. Pours black with a thin tan head. The nose is barrel, roast, molasses. The taste is soy, barrel, brown sugar and molasses. Good but sweet. 3.8 alexsdad06 (10279) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 6, 2014
12 oz. bottle from Brad consumed on a couple occasions (from notes). Pours dark brown to black in color with a thin beige head. Nose is dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark grains, rye whiskey, light vanilla and wood. The flavor is the same; dark roasted malts, rye whiskey barrel notes, dark chocolate, vanilla and woody. Smooth mouth feel and quite tasty. Recent bottle was noticeably flatter than my original tasted, but still tasty. Close to the bourbon. This one poured a very dark coffee brown color with basically no head. Aroma was of rye whiskey, coffee, dark chocolate, and light sour cherry. Flavor was exposed lightly oxidized and infected barrel, but still mainly stoutish qualities with some rye whiskey in the finish. egajdzis (6502) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 6, 2011
Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, roast, dark chocolate, burnt wood, and alcohol. Taste of burnt wood, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee, rye whiskey, and spicy alcohol in the finish. hopdog (12382) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 1, 2011

12oz bottle from George. Rating #11. Another dark black pour with no carbonation from a bank DA. Similar, but definitely different than the bourbon as far as the aroma goes, the booze is there but not nearly as powerful as the bourbon, a touch lighter. Getting a lot more vanilla with just a touch of spiciness and a little more body, good stuff and I’m glad it has held up in the bottle. Dark dark brown pour. Aroma of booze, oak, vanilla, bitter chocolate. Flavor of rye whiskey, nice oaky component, dried plums, raisins, medjool dates. Another gem from JW. Amazing find getting all three Nano beers. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 15, 2010
Jackie o’s nano rye. 22oz bottle. Thx to brad for sharing this rarity... Pours a thickened dark caramel brown with a thin light beige head.... Flavors
are smooth vanilla barreled with a spicy rye flavor... Aroma of spicy
bourbon qged with deeper chocolate notes. Smooth but still a bit boozy through the middle and finish. my favorite of the three nano versions.

Bottle shared by Brad, thanks! Poured black with minimal gray head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of dark sweet grains, rye, roasted notes, and a bit of chocolate. Flavor was full of dark grain becoming sweet with a bit of rye alcohol and chocolate. goryshkewych (11) - broadview heights, Ohio, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Pours a thick, dark, opaque brown with virtually no head. Nose of chocolate, butterscotch, a little whiskey, and maybe just a hint of soy sauce. Similar flavors on the palate. A little bit of heat on the finish. Low carbonation, and a little bit oxidized. The Tuthilltown Nanos were very interesting to compare to the "normal" Woodford-aged BB Dark Apparition.
