COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Eleven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected American hops help support the monolithic maltiness of Dark Apparition. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cold resting place. Be aware when in the presence of Dark Apparition ’cause this ghost is a creeper.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2017 Bourbon power. Chocolate - dark, unsweetened, really long aftertaste of it. Less coffee. Some vanilla. Roasty finish. BOOZY and warming. Good texture and body. Well done.

Pours dark brown with lasting tan lacing. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Flavor is unsweetened chocolate and coffee. It warms all the way down. Very nice.

375 ml bottle from Winerak Market in Zanesville, OH, served slightly below cellar temp in a Maudite glass. Opaque, black (what else?) with a fully lasting smallish light tan head...lightly smoky touches in an aroma that predominantly carries dark berries (blue/black), molasses, a touch of pepper, and strong chocolate, with a bit of caramel, lighter sweetness wafting in several minutes in....on the tongue it’s fairly strongly bitter throughout, chocolaty, with a fair bit of sweetness upfront, some of that smokiness and toastiness coming in at the quite intense, tarry-bitter finish...smooth, decadent, full mouthfeel, not quite velvet perhaps, maybe satin is closer? moderate to low carbonation; this is a fine Impy though on the whole it isn’t perhaps distinctive enough to stand with the best. Still a fine choice on a surprisingly cold night...

Bottle care of Michael, thanks dude. Pours a nearly flat black without a head or much lace. Nose and flavor of layered fig, roasted and rich dark malts, toffee, chocolate, plum, coffee and dates. Medium bodied with a robust finish and warming effect in the chest. A nice Imperial stout overall.

Adamsville (319) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 9, 2017
Sensation : Faible effervescence, corps moyen, bonne longueur, picotement éthylique.

pinkzambia (1931) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 9, 2017
Tap @ Bodega: Dark brown with a small tan ring head. Malty and sweet with some dried fruit. Choco-malt aroma. Crisp finish and not as thick as some imperial stouts.

Menacing black pour with sandy head. Nose of thick raisin and date, coffee, mineral graphite, gentle silky chocolate, dark bread. Very silky body, waving generous amounts of vanilla and chocolate toastiness, coffee grounds, balanced with ease. Lovely RIS. Great texture, body, flavor, everything. Jackie O’s are truly some stout wizards.
