Tap sample. Poured black color with medium fizzy tan head that lasted with excellent lacing. Aroma is very complex with roasted malt, vanilla and ginger. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy chocolate spice sweet flavor and moderate to heavy complex dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex beer. Sample at Jackie O’s on 8/16/13. Darkest brown pour with a medium brown head. Aroma of pine, smoke, roast, herbs and spice. Flavor is straight up gingerbread and coffee. Lots of ginger and cinnamon, with plenty of roast to cut down on the sweetness. Really good stuff. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 21, 2013
Taster at Jackie-Os. Mostly clear dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Good-looking rows of lace. Nice bigger cinnamon-spice nose. Dark chocolate and cinnamon herbs int he flavor, very nice ginger. Medium body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Clean, lightly dry finish with a long, spicy, dark chocolatey aftertaste. Bigger bitter taste, lightly spicy. Tasty, but very spicy stout. More spice than stout, almost phaleslu (10553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 18, 2013
Draft in a sampler on the Public House side. Pours a dark cola brown with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor blast with the chai notes- cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger spice- along with vanilla and chocolate sweetness and an earthy tea throughout. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, spicy, dry mouthfeel. Really unique, tasty stout. JStax (7132) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 17, 2013
Poured on draft at Jackie-O’s. Pours a brown with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has a lot of ginger heavy chai spice with a drying anise coming through in the taste and finish. Chewy mouthfeel.
