Sampled @ the brewery. Pours dark brown in color with a smaller beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, hints of char, hints of coffee, caramel, some chocolate with well integrated smoky notes throughout. Well worth a try. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 26, 2011
I was really bummed when I missed this at the February release and even more excited when it was on draft at the April release. Was first served thorogood before I got this sample. Viscous black pour with a thin to nonexistent head. Aroma is campfire and quite meaty. Creamy body. Coffee, chocolate, smoke and beef jerky. You know what would be redonkulus? Ice it once more and call it fired & iced Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 4, 2011

Sample at Jackie O’s on 2/5/11. Pours medium to dark brown with a thin beige head. Malty and caramelly nose with chocolate, cream and butter. Tingly on the tongue and the flavor is of caramel malt and chocolate before a smoky finish.

Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale/ Stout and Big Beer Fest on 02/05/2011. The beer is an inky black color with a minimal light beige head that disappears quickly. Sparse spots of lacing. Aroma of smoked malt and chocolate. Rich and smooth body with flavors of charred malt, smoke and coffee. The finish is grainy malt with a roasty and smoky aftertaste. Above average overall.
