(En fût à la source): Corpulence moelleuse suffisamment riche de framboises et grains rôties avec une finale poivré. L'ensemble est surprenant et fonctionne à merveille.

Sample at the brewpub during Jackie O’s 11th Anniversary Extravaganza on 01/06/2017. The beer is a cloudy reddish-brown color with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of raspberry, malt and chocolate. Medium body with a semi-tart raspberry character and notes of chocolate malt in the background. The finish is fruity with a berry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at Cappy’s during the Jackie O’s tap takeover, served in a flight. Pours a hazy amber with a small off-white ring for a head. Notes of cherries, brown sugar, toasted malts, grapes, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a tangy, malty mouthfeel. Fruited dark beers don’t always work for me, and while this one is odd - like most of them - I still kinda like it.

Draft at Jackie O-s Fifth Anniversary from notes. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor had toasted grains, mild chocolate, raspberries are there, fruity slight tartness, but not dominating everything else, decent enough, but was dominated by all the crazy big beers running around during the event.

On tap at the brewpub on December 30, 2010. The menu described this as a brown ale fermented with raspberries. Pours a nice reddish-brown color with a good white head and some lacing as it goes down. The nose had a bit of lightly-sweet roasted malt, fruit, chocolate malt, and a really nice raspberry presence. The taste was quite as integrated, though I really enjoyed what the raspberries brought to the feel with a slight tartness mixed with some sweetness. The drinkability was quite high. The ABV is hidden really well and I could easily knock back a few glasses of this. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 01-05-2011

On tap at the Jackie O’s 5th Anniversary Extravaganza. Reddish brown pour with a medium tan head. Malty brown ale nose with berries. Raspberry flavor with some bready malt before a semi-dry finish.

Poured from a Growler into a stein. Appearance is a dark brown with a beige head and lacing. Aroma is dark fruits, especially raspberries, chocolates, and malts. In my first few sips, I notice that this tastes like raspberry truffles, delicious raspberry truffles. The aftertaste is primarily chocolate but as that subsides the bitterness of the raspberries makes a comeback. Medium bodied. This is one tasty beverage.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery during the 5th anniversary party. Poured a cloudy reddish brown with a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma had notes of grains and hay with a tart raspberry backing. Flavor had a hint of raspberry at the start but the beer was generally dominated by the hay and grain profiles. I feel the beer would have benefitted greatly if the raspberry had been more present.
