Draft @ Jackie O’s. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a medium sized white head that disappears rather quickly. The aroma has some doughy malt, mild to moderate lemony citrus, medium sour with a nice funky quality. The flavor has doughy malt, dry funky notes, lemon citrus and herbal notes. This treatment took a very nice session beer to a new level. cpetrone84 (1810) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2012
pour is pale murky yellow with white ring. The nose is musky and lemon, notes of sweat and some light leathery Brett. Hints of golden fruits behind. The taste is much of the same, lots of Brett, leather, rind and sweat, sweet apricots and lemon, fair bit sugary, light carb, medium body. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 27, 2012
On tap. Light hazy yellow color, visible sediment inside, little white head leaving decent lace. Light, crisp carbonation. Drier texutre. Nice, zesty sweet and sour taste. Awesome lemon citrus and funky sour aroma. Nice, enjoyably longer aftertaste. A tasty, light quasi-sour. Good stuff JaBier (7973) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. Hazy yellow pour with a thick white head. Nose is funk, sour citrus (lemon peel) and malt. Malty and citrusy flavor with lots of funk and some bitterness before a sour lemon juice finish. Very different than the Funky Gold Verbena. I’m liking the sour twinge to this one. Received in a tulip. Note that this is indeed a different beer than Funky Gold Verbena. This one spent an extra 8 months getting close and personal with brett.
4.5 A: Hazed bright yellow color. Two fingers of creamy/frothy white head. Great retention and lots of lacing left behind.
3.5 S: Earthy brett funkiness, like a mountain stream or the forest after a rain or something of that nature. Hay and persimmon fruitiness. Lemony with lemon zest.
3.5 T: Mildly tart as the lemon pokes through moreso in the taste. Hay, earthy with a peachy fruitiness. Light mustiness.
3.0 M: Lighter body. Good active carbonation, but lacking all creaminess.
3.5 D: Pretty decent beer that I would drink again.

Poured on draft. Appearance is a translucent gold with a crisp white head of foam. Aroma is pretty tart and lactic. Taste is divine sourness complemented with the fruity lemon characteristics of the Funky Gold Verbana. I love this beer. I have to say this is my favorite of the tap beers from the release. Another home run sour from Jackie-O’s.
