Sampler flight on tap at the brewpub (Athens, OH). Pours a richly straw pale yellow hue. Gentle haze, frothy offwhite head dies to a small ring, laces small overall. Aromas are gentle earthy hops, touches of citrus, straw, bready malts into the fold. Gentle spicey earthy element, some straw. Touches of earth, spicey refreshing almost cool quality. Initial is lighter end of the fold, offering spicy earth, touch of pine, sprigs, and grass. Earthy elements, cool spice, and bready malts, pale grains, a touch cereal. Middle remains cool, that spice is distinct, with gentle dryness, pine, and straw. Very interesting and refreshing. Dogbrick (12936) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 2, 2012
Sample at Jackie O’s as part of Ohio Brew Week. Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold color with a medium fizzy white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Rings of lacing on the glass. Potpourri spices and hops in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of spices, herbal hops and malt. The finish is short with a mild spice aftertaste. Decent overall. Draft sample. Poured hazy yellow color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate earthy spice and fruit aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spicy sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderated duration. Refreshing complex summer beer. Poured on draft. Gold in color with a head of quickly diminishing white foam. Oddly, this smells more like the earthy must of a stick found in the woods than I would have expected it to at first. Taste is earthy and slightly bitter. Quick, stickly, finish. Definitely an interesting beer, but I don’t think it’s for me. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 13, 2011
This poured a dark yellow color with a white head. Aroma was definitely almost all spice bush, very herbal and spicey with very light pale malt notes. Flavor was almost all spice bush too, either over spiced or im just not a fan of the spice bush, either way, I didnt enjoy this one too much.

Sample at the Public House on 6/24/11. Clear gold pour with a thin white head. Very herbal aroma (could be sage, could be cardamom; I’m not great at picking out herbs) with some malt in there. Malty flavor with a bunch of herbal character before a crisp hop finish.
