Another Jackie O’s beauty courtesy of markwise. Pours murky dark brown with off white head. The aroma is bold with balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, wood varnish, nut skins and lots of warm cherry skins (it appears I’m on a ‘skins’ kick). The taste is very nice indeed with brown sugar sweetened balsamic vinegar, black strap molasses, funky soured moldy citrus and chocolate. Man, that’s an odd combination. This beer really pulls those notes together creating a challenging flavor and a harmonious one. Very cool brew. JaBier (8027) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Sampled during One Funky Afternoon on 4/2/11. Cloudy dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of raspberries, slight vanilla, booze, funk and dark malts. Sour raspberry puree flavor with vanilla, oak, brett and a bit of alcohol.

A fairly intensely sour brown ale with noticeable raspberry tartness. A bit muddled though; no flavors really come through clearly except for the tart raspberry acidity. Good but not great. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2011
22 oz bottle. Partly clear purple brown with stray forced froth. Nose is chocolate raspberry, cider vinegar, bourbon and hay. Medium body with a tang finishing with an acetic bite. Taste is the same chocolate raspberry souring into woody bourbon with hints of raisin. bittermestupid (247) - Canton, Ohio, USA - MAY 21, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2011 Dark redish brown no head. Smells of dark sour fruit, raspberry, chocolate, and a sugar smell. Tastes of tart raspberry puree and a touch of chocolate. Mouthfeel is light, finish is sour and crisp.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours dark brown. Quickly dissipating brown head. Nose/taste of wild yeast, tart raspberry, vinegar, bourbon, wood, tannins and maple. Medium body. Really tart finish. Hint of dryness before the tartness kicks in. The body is a nice strong, maple and chocolate malt - soured with raspberry. Solid. Some caramel sweetness. This poured a dark red/brown/almost purple with a pinkish head. Aroma was lots of sour tart raspberries, and light funk too. Flavor was lots of raspberry andf funk upfront, yeasty, and followed by an oaky, vanilla cheese finish,. very interesting stuff.markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 4, 2011

This poured a very murky dark red with a small pinkish head. Aroma was very tart raspberries, mild vanilla, and some roasted and oaky characters too. Flavor was very tart upfront, followed by sweeter raspberries and vanilla. Not much barrel notes at all in the taste.
Cannot believe that I got a chance to try this. Many thanks. Pours a red-brown with small off-white head. Nose is slight roast, raspberries, earth, cherry flesh, and bits of bacteria, with vinegar and chocolate as well. Very complex. Flavor is similar with chocolate, some tartness, and some wood (cherry pits?), and some dry chocolate. Very nice. Medium-bodied and lingering dry chocolate with berries. drfabulous (8092) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - APR 30, 2011
22 ounce thanks to Veldrid. Pours with a thin head. Nice funky sour aroma. Taste is fruit - raspberries - and sour. With that wine like sour, I’m also getting a touch of sweetness from the fruit. Very nice.
