Draft @ Jackie O’s. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma has ample citrus hops with lighter pine notes. Malts are sweet caramel and some mild breadiness. The flavor has good bitterness throughout. Citrus, mild pine and some earthy hops with a base of bready malts. This is a solid drinking IPA.

Hopluka. Sample from Jackie o’s during the ba dark app party earlier this year... Pours a transparent apple cidery brown pour with a thin wispy barely off-white head... Hop profile in the flavor is nice with a citrusy tropical fruit bent with a mild sweetness coming trough mid-palatte. body and carbonation held up just fine on this one.

"A hoppy homage to our handyman Dave Halupka." Pours a nice orange-based color with a good white head and some streaky lacing as it goes down the glass. The nose is really fresh with quite a bit of tropical fruit and a bit of sweeter malt sitting in the background. It seems like quite a bit of the sweetness is coming from the perception that there’s so much fruit that it ought to be sweet. Taste is slightly malty with tropical-fruit hops all over. Nice feel with a good level of bitterness. Drinks quite well; glad we stopped over to the bar side to try this one out. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 01-05-2011

This poured a darker gold color with a white head. Aroma was nice centennial fruity hops with very light malt notes too. Flavor was medium centennial hops upfront, fruity and light, but followed by a somewhat buttery/malty pilsener taste that I was not a big fan of.

Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale/ Stout and Big Beer Fest on 02/05/2011. The beer pours a clear honey-amber color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has grapefruit and pine notes. Malty undercurrent as well. The finish is hoppy with a citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap into a shaker. Appearance is a translucent copper with a nice foamy white head. Sticky lacing. Aroma is all hops. Taste is initially hoppy with a balancing malt backbone. Medium bodied. Very drinkable and smooth. Quite tasty.

On tap at the brewpub on 1/13/11. Pours clear amber with a thick beige head. Citrusy and piney hop nose with some spicy hops in there too along with a bit of sweet and caramel malt. Flavor is equally orangy and piney with some malt before a bitter grapefruit rind finish. Do I dare to compare? Nah, I’ll just say it’s mighty tasty.
