Draft samples @ Jackie O’s. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. The nose provides an intense burst of quality dark roasted coffee with chocolate that highlights everything nicely. It is almost like smelling a coffee apartif. You know the alcohol is there, but it is not boozy or distracting. The flavor just explodes with huge amounts of coffee. Additional notes of chocolate and a touch of char work well together. This is an amazing beer, but best enjoyed in small 4 oz. sample sizes. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 29, 2011
Huge thanks to J & J for sending this along to be crew-savored. Cuvee de Jacqui is the bomb! Intensely oily pour, with basically no carbonation save for a few lone bubbles here and there. Huge nose of freshly roasted bean and deep dark chocolate. Hints of ristretto and molasses in its depths. Like the other versions of Dark App that I’ve sampled, the base stout is really quite enjoyable. But in this big-ass, pumped-up version, the icing process really brings out an intensely bitter flavor that I just love, with a touch of char, some serious bean oils, and rich bitter chocolates. Full, silky mouthfeel is just fine. Absolutely terrific beer. durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Bottle sent to JCB from StFun. Thanks for the send and the share! Beer also know as "Cuvee de Jacqui." Wow, what a beer. Somehow, despite the high ABV, this wasn’t a booze bomb. Super-concentrated flavors of coffee, cocoa, sweetness, and mild roast. Surprisingly well pulled off. Great night cap. emacgee (4704) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Cuvee de Jacquie. Shared by JCB. Ink black pour with no head. Lots of coffee in the nose with dark chocolate and wood. Rich chocolate and coffee in the flavor and warming alcohol. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Bottle sent to JCB from StFun to be shared with the crew. Thanks Josh and Jason. "Cuvee de Jacqui" Last beer of the night and a lovely night cap, even if I was hurting a bit the AM from taking an extra pour! Super concentrated fresh coffee, cocoa, mild roast, mild booze. Flavor is similar, nice balance between booze, sweetness, and rich coffee. Liked this much more than I expected. Quite well done. Kinda like HotD Dave with it concentrated flavor.

Draft in snifter at JO’s. Poured a dark brown color with a minimal frothy brown head that lasted with excellent legs. Moderate to heavy roasted dark chocolate, coffee and alcohol aroma. Heavy dark roasted sweet coffee flavor with a heavy sweet and alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Viscous Jet black pour. Thin beige head. Low carbonation but, its there. Aroma is intense coffee, roast, and chocolate malts. Velvety, creamy, alcohol (not hot) Concentrated Coffee Dark App flavor. I’ve been wanting to try this one for a minute and It did not disappoint! Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 30, 2011
Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale on 08/27/2011. Pours a viscous black color with a thin beige head that burns away to an outer ring quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Espresso aroma with notes of roasted malt and booze. Rich and smooth body with flavors of black coffee, dark chocolate, malt and warming alcohol. Dark chocolate mocha aftertaste. Very enjoyable overall. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Draft...dark black with a thin tan head... The nose is mostly high quality coffee with a bit of green vegetables quality, very good... The taste is spot on with the nose, tons of coffee, tastes great but its a bit one noted, a sample pour is enough Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 1, 2011
This poured a dark brown, with no head watsoever. Aroma was just thick chewy roasted malts, and lots of day old burnt coffee. Yum. Flavor was straight thick coffee, very roasted, some alcohol of coarse with some soy sauce, very thick and Inky. great.
