Draft at Jackie o’s from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, a nice mix of milk and dark chocolate, some coffee notes, earthy, just a nice drinking big imperial porter. Tmoney99 (14506) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 9, 2011
Draft sample. Poured hazy dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted coffee and sweet malt flavor with an medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Very good beer. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - AUG 30, 2011
Dark viscous pour. Aroma is roasted malts, bakers chocolate and coffee on the nose. Velvety mouthfeel. Heavy roast coffee initially finishes with a blast of sweet cream. Coffee aftertaste. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 28, 2011

Sample at Jackie O’s as part of Ohio Brew Week. This beer is a dark brownish-black color with a medium tan head that recedes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium, dry body with a sweet roasty character and flavors of bitter coffee, dark chocolate, hops and malt. The finish is bittersweet chocolate with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Solid all around.

This poured deep dark brown, almost black with a small light tan head. Aroma was molasses, dark roasted coffee and some dark chocolate. Flavor was silky and smooth, less burnt than i was expected, more on the sweeter milk chocolate side than the nose. Nice stuff. JStax (6509) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JUL 2, 2011
Poured on draft. Appearance is dark, dense brown with a good sized tan head. Aroma is loads of dark roasted coffee. Coffee is really what this beer is all about as I see it. Toasty coffee goodness. Yum. Thick in body and nonexistent carbonation. Filling to say the least. JaBier (7971) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUN 28, 2011
Sample at the Public House on 6/24/11. Darkest brown to black pour with a thin tan head. Chocolate aroma with notes of coffee and roasted malt. Chocolatey flavor with malty sweetness, roast and coffee before a bitter dark chocolate finish. Very nice and one of the best of the weekend. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2011
Had this the night before the June 25th release. Received in a snifter.
4.0 A: Black color. Came with just a touch of super creamy head.
4.0 S: Light roastiness, lots of milk chocolate, sweet caramel, and overally grainy vibe.
4.5 T: Pleasantly roasty with an intense milk chocolate flavor. Sweet overall with lots of dark crystal malts. Rich and full flavored.
4.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Super creamy. Excellent.
4.5 D: One of the best JO’s brews I’ve had. Nothing wrong with this.
