Draft sample. Poured brown color with an average fizzy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium toasted hazelnut and chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted chocolate flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good and my expectations where met.

Received in a 4 oz. tasting glass.
3.5 A: Black color. Came without a head.
4.0 S: Coffee is strongest, then hazelnut. Moderate supple roastiness. Caramel and a bit of molasses. Well balanced.
4.0 T: About the same as the nose. Coffee dominates here as well with hazelnut coming in second.
3.0 M: Light to lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Would like this to be a bit thicker and would also like some more creaminess as this isn’t very.
3.5 D: Tasty beer and the hazelnut adds some depth, but this batch doesn’t have much body to it.
Serving type: on-tap

Sample at Jackie O’s during the bottle release on 8/18/12. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, malt and light hazelnut. Coffee flavor with some chocolate and a bit of hazelnut before a roasty finish. JStax (7179) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 20, 2012
Poured on draft. Appearance is a dark brown with a khaki colored head of foam. Good retention and lacing as well. The aroma is rich espresso with heavy notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, maybe even some cacao nibs. The taste is so smooth with the way it blends the coffee of the base beer and the near sweetness of the hazelnuts. It’s like the two were meant to be together. I hope this beer is one that sticks around. It is very good.
